It was carnage out there even to the extent it was hard to watch, then the next day just as bad for Stamps and Lions.
Should we start a new thread to discuss this and possible solutions.?

Wally said if they made him commissioner the first thing he would do is expand to the US. Interesting, but it has been done and how did that work out?
There was no flag on the play because the game was over. If this was during the game, for sure it would have drawn a flag, or challenge. And, it wasn’t a matter of Bigdork trying to stop…after the hit, he deliberately fell on top of Shea. He had to turn to fall on Shea. That was the unnecessary part.
That rant by MacBeth was, pure, unadulterated BS! Injuries happen during every game. If you go to 3Dnation, you will find (if it is still there) a well-written piece documented (actual facts/stats) that show the injury factor in NFL games on Thursday, actually only 4 days break from previous Sunday, IS LOWER than games with a full week interval. It also said that recovery time for athletes is about the same, as two days rest pretty much does that. FINAL ANALYSIS: MCB is a cry-baby loser, trying to deflect attention from his mediocre play. He thinks he is bigger than the league. I hope the commish changes his mind, or in the alternative, at least, shuts his yap by significantly lightening his wallet. He is just as nauseating to listen to as Chad…oh, wait… they fed on each other in the big smoke. hmmm…maybe Western Canada should now adopt that moniker!
Seriously? Do you really think that a player would run over an official intentionally? He is focused on the ball, the stripe was in the wrong position…should not have been in front of him, impeding his view, or path, to the ball.
Once again Squishy you are showing your bias for all things green . Not impressed
Squishy or saskatz?
The squishmeister. Usually a very fair poster… Unless I read his post wrong wrong and misconstrued he was calling for the rider to be fined. If I did my sincere apologies to @Squishy21
there is no way the rider that ran into the ref will be sanctioned. There was no flag or I would say different on this… the ref himself is to make an attempt to not be in the way too.
Squishy actually suggested fine AND suspension somewhere on here.
He will come around to reason, he always does
Oh, okay. I agree there should be no sanction levied for what I thought was innocent contact on an official.
During the play, the officials are part of the field and No Player will ever be flagged or fined if he contacts the official while trying to make a play. After the whistle is an entirely different matter.
“avoidable physical contact with an official” by a player is Objectionable Conduct and can be penalized or otherwise sanctioned. This is from Rule 4, Section 7, article (h) of the rule book. I don’t see a differentiation there of during play or after play.
but there is a difference…if he did wrong for certain there would have been a flag… the ref himself has a responsibility to not be in the way of any play. the rider in question did not do anything wrong here. it has happened many many times in the past with a ref standing in the middle of the feild and a crossing pattern has caused a O player or a D player to run into a ref DURING live play. no flag no penalty no infraction. Some teams will actually use the ref as built in pikplay
Yes, absolutely I agree, and no flag during the play means that on the field the officials felt the contact was accidental. The league could review the play, though, and decide the contact was avoidable and give a fine after the fact. That happens all the time, an unflagged play draws a fine after the fact.
I’m not saying it will draw a fine, just that it could.
I’ve been looking for videos of the play so I could look at them, but haven’t found one so far.
From what I remember (I also have not seen a replay) it was not accidental contact, it was a purposefull shove from behind to get him out of the way.
Alford pushed him from behind while the ball was still in the air, then adjusted to return the ball
When do we find out about fines, anyways?
I think they usually announce on Thursdays.
Scott Hutter’s knee injury sadly is season ending , he seems in good spirits though which is good. I’ve talked to him twice since the injury happened.
Both Bighill & Macbeth are lighter in the wallets today.
Hmmmm be damned ya say🤭
