LDC - Pies at Nags Game Thread, Mon Sept 1

Mon September 1
Edmonton at Calgary
4pm et/1pm pt

On paper, this promises to be the most compelling Battle of Alberta on Labour Day in many years. Mike Reilly can build on his great season by piloting the Esks to a win here, but I think the Stamps at home are going to prevail in a true shootout. Jon Cornish will be the x-factor if he returns to form and allows Calgary to mix in play action on top of his rush production.

Oski Wee Wee,

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=460738 << more on the poignant Joe West story and how he has coped after the loss of his brother. All my best to him!

Oski Wee Wee,

The game is underway. In under 3 minutes the Nags scored a TD and then with a deep punt into the end zone picked up a single.
I predict a Calgary win - of course! Their D is off to a good start.

Paging the Edmonton Defense.... Edmonton defense needed on the field!

Just got this game on...I am not sure if I will stick here for long.

Well I've been reading Ticats new and only half watching but am cheering for the "outlaws" since my daughter lives in Calgary and is a fan.

Has been a slow game.... and certain people were using the Cats game as background noise for the real LDC game to begin??

Is this a continuation of BG noise??

28 combined points 0 slightly ahead of the Ticats/Blew game and still a quarter to go but yeah I get your point. If more was happening, I'd likely be watching more carefully.

Nichols just tossed a 30-40 yd bomb to Bowman.

Cornish just ran it in for a Nags TD and a comfortable 15 point lead. Mitchell almost got it there himself but was stopped about 2 yds short. 25-10 Nags almost half way through the fourth.

Calgary is about to ice this. 28-13 after the Esk turnover on downs, :56 left in the fourth quarter. Defence rules this Labour Day!

Oski Wee Wee,

Only difference is the Nags put up more points when they had their chances

Now we know why Reilly is the starter and Nicols the back up although I don't know if Reilly would have changed the outcome today.

28-13 Nags over the Pies final score.  :rockin:

Well, I went 4-0 in the VGCC this weekend!!

Thanks Cats!!
