In September 2024, older former NCAA athletes,
who were not covered by recent and current litigation,
filed suit against the Big Ten Network and the NCAA on this front as well, and I expect we will see former athletes at all levels following on such a course for uncompensated use of their name, image, and likeness for profit by other entities, and rightfully so.

The free ride on “student athletes,”
via that bygone euphemism for “uncompensated professional labour on 'scholarship,”
for the greedy media conglomerates is long over at long last, including most especially at Disney and ESPN.
