Kind of hard for a 405 pound black man with a mohawk to go unnoticed in Lennoxville

Im afraid its a bit of a false alarm.

From the Als website:

International fullback/tight end, LaQuan Mcgowan, which the Alouettes were interested in adding to the roster, has been unable to clear a medical and will not be joining the team at this time. He is scheduled to return to his native Texas shortly, but is expected back with the team at some point this season.

Watched him in college if he could lose 70 lbs he'd b a beast

But then he'd be on legged :?

I still think a man this large could be very disruptive in the CFL.

Well that's all folks

When you goggle him, nothing about the CFL comes up.

Not to burst your bubble pikk but the cfl gets less media coverage than high school football here in the states. It's too bad cause the cfl game is fun to watch but media coverage is dismal at best

LaQuan McGowan: “I’m strong, I’m fast…tackle, guard, fullback in short yardage, I can succeed at all that stuff.”

Asked LaQuan McGowan for his official height and weight…6-foot-8, 396 pounds. I’ve seen him up close…trust me, he is! #Alouettes

A latter-day version of "the refrigerator"?

Nik Lewis is his mini-me !

LaQuan McGowan (00) next to Michael Bamiro (67) who is 6'8" 340 lbs.

McGowan next to Kristian Matte (51) who is 6'4" 296 lbs.

McGowan as a human practice obstacle for Jeff Perrett who is 6'7" 320 lbs.

Heres the Journals story and photo. Looks like he will be tried on the o-line.

«Même s’il a eu de la difficulté à passer les tests médicaux la première fois, LaQuan s’est entraîné très fort pour obtenir une deuxième chance, a reconnu Popp. Il était un ailier rapproché à l’université, mais on veut voir s’il peut faire la transition sur la ligne à l’attaque. On aura peut-être une position spéciale pour lui.»

Special position? Will he be a 6th lineman on certain plays who is also an eligible receiver? Interesting.

Johnny would love to see him as a ball carrier, run over and squash Simoni Lawrence! :rockin:

Johnny would bet good money that Rick Campbell, will not dare step onto the field when McGowan is near his bench!

He could be a great addition. With a small roster a guy who can chip in at FB, OL, DL and Receiver. It will depend how creative the coaching staff is.

And of course his actual pro skill set. Here's hoping.

So when do you figure this apartment building with arms is going to suit up for you boys ? :o the guy could be an entire O-Line all by himself. :cowboy:YIKES !!! He is one scary looking dude !!! I just wonder if ya got a big enough helmet and jersey never mind the pants that will fit him. Hell he makes "Thick " Nic look like a midget in comparison.

and if somehow he fails at the pro level in football...........well who wants to make a bet where he'll show up next ?

I think they will have to get creative. IMO a guy his size doesn't have the foot speed to be an every-down O-lineman in the CFL. But he could certainly be a great swiss army knife playing tight end, fullback, backup OL, and maybe even DT in a pinch. The latter is particularly useful with Klassen injured and Martin gone -- if Cash goes down in game, who replaces him?
