Last night, us denizens of the game threads here on ticats.ca started to reminisce about the famous “Bishop Watch” that HTD would do during Michael Bishop-Qb’ed games last year:

I’ve dug through the archives for a “Bishop Watch: The Greatest Hits” sampler for your edification (in chronological order even). LOL The threads provided indicate the Bishop “era” in Winnipeg from its origins to its demise. The Nov. 1 and Nov. 8 threads linked show the Bishop Watch in action, Nov. 8 being sweeter in the schadenfreude/boat show demo sense. LMAO

HORSE HOCKEY!!! For some reason the CFL pundits do not like Bishop, people like this last poster swallow it hook, line and sinker. They have demonized Michael Bishop as not being very bright etc, all totally false. He is a very smart QB that has been in every type of offense, from the very basic to the complex run and shoot. Michael really came in to his own during the 2007 season when he won the starting job from Damen Allen. Bish was resposible for all 11 wins that year. He was injured for the remainder of the games. Argos never won a game in 2007 when Bishop was not at QB, when he went in the game every phase of the team improved, from defence to special teams.

When Bish was airlifted in to Sask last year, he started with only 1 and a half days prep, they won the game. Bishop was named offensive player of the week twice with the Riders in 2008.

As for asking the Sask guys…Well some/most of the Sask fans on line gave no credit to Bishop when he won a game, and blamed him totally for every loss.

And wasn’t it appropriate that in Bishop’s last game, he threw two costly picks to seal the win for his opponents?

Hi Wallace – I believe he did. However, it was one of those bang-bang situations where Simon’s spin, the tackling angle, and the fumble probably contributed to the zebras missing that. They miss the spears at QBs less it seems.

It’s painful to watch the BC offense. Their line isn’t helping Lulay out, Travis looks a little happy-footish, and their popcorn-popping option on the sideline has been horrendous with ball security. Printers’s elusiveness works best with the BC line in its state, but he’s been careless beyond his usual Achilles heel in that regard. Tough spot!
