LAPOLICE NEW BOMBER HEAD COACH

Hey as you know, once you get to the Grey Cup it`s anybodys game. They lost if I am not mistaken  Seriously like I said I hope I am wrong and that they are very successful. If I had to bet, I would bet that they will wish they never hired Mack?

Riders had 6th offense in 2008 as well as 2009. I think they should have probably gone with the guy other than Mack that would have chosen Marshall. But hey, that`s ancient history, go Bombers. I hope to be wrong on my prediction. I did call it right on Andrus from day 1. I said he would be out of football this year.

HEY DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE BOMBERS OFFENCE WAS RATED LAST YEAR? I BET IT WAS BETTER THAN 6TH?? If it was then Bombers just took a step down with lapolice hiring? Something to think about, might have been better to give the job to Bombers current acting OC

.....Plop will do just fine....Whatever he can inject into the Wpg. offence will be better than 09....The sun says (i don't know why i quote these guys ...they;re about as right as hfxtc) Mark Nelson is going to get the pink slip...I don't like that move if true....Harris and Dyce will be kept on and Campbell...according to them...We'll see pretty soon, as i'm sure the Bomber management and new coach would like to have coaching positions solidified quickly...IF Nelson is let go....i don't know who will be the new dc....Anyones guess?????....

It will probably be someone who LaPolice has worked with in the CFL in the past. But one would think that it won't be Kavis Reed.

I think letting Nelson go is a mistake. But the new HC has to be surrounded by guys he likes and is comfortable with.

Agreed, and agreed.

Don't understand why they'd let Nelson go. The defense was the lone bright spot in Winnipeg last season. I've been watching some of the games they had against my Als recently and I'm again struck by their coverage schemes and Nelson's ability to time up and execute blitzes on second down to force Calvillo into incompletions or sacks. With a rookie head coach, one would think the Bombers would want continuity at the DC spot.

I hope the reports aren't true and that Nelson sticks around.

Hmmm.... 6TH IN OFFENSE? Those numbers don't add up MB!! In Lapolice's profile on Bombers.com it states the following:

"In 2009, LaPolice’s offence ranked 2nd in scoring, 2nd in touchdowns scored and third in both rushing and passing touchdowns."

How can you rank 2ND in scoring and in TD'S scored and 3RD in Rushing and Passing TD'S and still end up 6TH in total offense? impossible my man, check your numbers again!! :cowboy:

I'll take those stats over the 2009 Bomber offensive stats any day .... next topic please!!

Who will be at QB for the Bombers in 2010? We have Lefors, Santos, DiMichele, Bishop, Bramlet here as of today (unless something changes soon) rumours have the BB'S interested in Jyles (or lapolice anyway's) and the BB'S were rumoured to be interested in Jarious Jackson back in December (after Kelly was fired). This story is going to be an interesting one right down to the season opener!!

Because there are other offensive statistics that factor into an overall assessment. Interceptions thrown, for one. Fumbles lost. Red-zone conversion. Average time of possession. Passing yards. First downs. Etc. etc.

OK, my mistake, but i'll still take Lapolice over Kelly LOL .... I know cheap comeback, just having some fun out here. Honestly though seems like every place Lapolice is, the offense seems to be better than previous years. Let's look at track record: Durant becomes starter in Sask under Lapolice ..... NOT BAD now the question is can Lapolice do the same here in Winnipeg with the QB'S we have? or will we make a move for Jyles or Jackson? I still don't think they should give up on Santos, i think Santos has alot of upsise. REMEMBER in 2002 when Lapolice was our OC here in Winnipeg, remember a QB named Khari Jones throwing for 46 TDS? By far Khari's best season as a Bomber .... Point is, seems like Lapolice knows how to work with QB'S to make them better!! Time will tell if that's the case in Winnipeg in 2010 or IS IT A REBUILDING YEAR? (I know the dreaded words, someone had to bring it up) either way T.O will still be last in the league in 2010!! Winnipeg and Hamilton will battle it out the first half of the year (as they don't play each other in the second half-crap CFL schedule makers) and will be nose and nose for 2ND again in the East!! And that is assuming the ALS will once again be in first, but this is the CFL and anything can happen!!

Im confused how does getting La Police help, the BB's went from 2 contenders to 3 now,so how longs it gonna take to pick between Sting,Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. With the usual in fighting between those 3 my guess is around week number 17.

Well my pick was Marshall. The guy could be the next Bob Cameron if givin the chance.Failure after failure then a long carrer. But I'll live with Lapolice.

You’re confused?

I’m confused by your post. . .

I’m assuming you’ve never heard of the 'The Police"

Every move you make…‘I’ll be watching you’…police surveillance  …now MadJack is really confused…

Yes, it didn't help much.

Just summed up in "Total yardage" they were 6th overall in 2008 and 2009...

here`s the link http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/CFL/ ... 1-qmi.html

but like you say there is more than 1 way to look at stats, you make a good point, hey I hope he is great!

I stand to be corrected but I do believe that it was Winston Churchill who once said:

"There are lies, there are damned lies, and then there are statistics."

…Yes ol Winnie was quite a guy…nothing to do with football…but my dad went to high-school with a guy by the name of Bill Stevenson…(winnipeger of old) He was Churchills right hand man, with regard to espionage during the second world war…Went by the name of 'Intrepid" The city just named a street after him…

…anyhoooooo…I like one of Winstons other quotes… when he was approached by a lady memember of parliament who smelled a little ‘scotch’ on his breath in the house…she exclaimed…‘You’ve been drinking sir and you look drunk’…He replied in typical Churchill fashion…‘Yes madame…but i can always sober-up…what can you do’  …

…wow …really got off topic…‘Statistics are for losers’…is the standard phrase everyone uses…i believe that to be correct MadJack…

As long as we're off topic. . .

Lady Astor: "Mr Churchill, if you were my husband, I would put arsenic in your tea"

Churchill: "Madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it. . . "

…

…forgot one other little anecdote…The Bill Stevenson i was referring to earlier ,was the man Ian Flemming based his James Bond books on…now if we only had a mind like that behind the Bombers…

Very interesting, Papa. I've read a couple of books on that guy, quite the character.

Easy on the 5 star, trying mixing your drinks !
