“this was an ugly game, offensively, for us,” - Rourke is right. The O-line was terrible. Pierce’s play calling predictable - first play Butler up the middle for nothing (a sure sign the game is not going to go as well as it should), first downs Butler up the middle for little or nothing - so predictable JC Abbott of 3DownNation noticed. You can’t beat the Riders without imaginative play calling. Any magic Pierce may have had with the Bombers is not so magical with the Lions, especially considering the offensive talent - Rourke, Hatcher, Broxton, McInnis, Eberhardt etc. You can rest assured if the Lions first play from scrimmage against the Riders is Butler up the middle, Riders are assured a victory. An almost guaranteed two and out on the first scrimmage of the game is not the best for inspiring players or fans.
