Landry: Bombers' Holm sharpened by teammate Schoen

There’s a pretty good reason why Evan Holm became a CFL All-Star this season.

Well, really, there’s a number of reasons that the 25-year-old native of Minnesota has emerged in his second year with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and why he can be counted on to make some big, gaudy defensive plays when the Bombers meet the Montreal Alouettes in the 110th Grey Cup on Sunday.

As a HUGE Bomber fan for 50 plus years I watch and critique every game with my equally dedicated Bomber lovin’ friends. To tell you the truth I never really paid attention to Mr. Holm. I saw his great plays but as the season progressed Holm just popped out. With all due respect to the other great players in the secondary, he is undoubtedly the best. The past two years he was a diamond in the rough. Now…he is a diamond in full display. Good luck on Sunday Mr. Holm!! GO BLUE!!
