With CFL free agency shopping just two months away, a couple of things seem clear when it comes to quarterbacks.

I wish when the writers did stories like these they were useful with information. I can’t speak to other teams, but the Riders have made it clear Jack Coan is their future and are developing him. They don’t need a free agent who has never been in their system and start from square 1. Coan has had the big stage in College with much more pressure than the CFL has to offer. He will be just fine.

There’s a surplus of good QBs available out there. The Argos do need a reliable backup they can afford and Arbuckle is the man. He’s not going anywhere. Hope he doesn’t think he’s going to hit the jackpot because he’s not. Take what they offer you Nick and stay employed with some stability for your family. As for Cameron Dukes. he’s no better than a third stringer and the Argos will retain him cheap if they want to or move on with a bigger, stronger guy for third and short.

This story feels premature. There are so many QBs hitting free agency that we have no idea what each team’s QB room is going to look like right now.

Could be scenario; Fajardo to the riders from Montreal, the riders flip Fajardo to Hamilton for Bo Levi Mitchell. News _Fajardo is open to rejoining the riders as said on The Rod Pedersen Show _ but … can oday put aside his sour feelings and reacquire Fajardo? oday should man up and admit he made a drastic miscalculated football mistake just to save his job by making Fajardo Maas his scapegoats 2023. A quarterback is sorely needed in regina with the rough riders football team. Bo Levi Mitchell is the man for the Roughriders of Saskatchewan, he will win that coveted Grey Cup Championship riderville so badly wants.

I’d have to say that Dru Brown WAS having a terrific season up until week 12 (the Red Blacks had lost just one game and tied another).

Have to agree with you here MJ . Brown had an adequate season at best . It was certainly a season he can build on but I would hardly rate it as terrific .

He is trending in the right direction

Yeah, it feels like all the reporters only watched Brown in the first half of the season and didn’t actually factor in his diminished effectiveness in the second half. He’s young, he’ll adapt, but it’s not like he set the league on fire from start to finish.

He certainly Ain’t making an iota of common sense.
If The QB. He claims is going to win the Grey Cup for the Riders was true there is no way the team that now has him would be giving him up… To any team, they would be keeping him.
As for trading to get Cody back only to immediately trade him The Cats for a somewhat old QB that has 6 months left on his already past due date … Never gonna happen

Not to mention he keeps suggesting this a) after it was known Cody isn’t starting in Montreal and b) after it was know That Harris re signed for 2025. But, I am a big believer that we all experience reality in our own unique way and maybe his experience is that Harris retired and or got picked up by an NFL team. Or maybe his reality is affected by oxygen deprivation.

Cody to WPG. No brainer. He’s a legit Grey Cup winning QB. We saw the WPG backup in 111 and he was “less than”. If Zach retires - then the Bombers have a guy.
