Labour Day 2011: Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes: September 5, 2011
Labour Day is here again, and so it is time to post the thread for posting about the Labour Day game as it happens. If you want to post about the game as it's happening, this is the place to do so. There may not be as many posts here, as many of those who post to these forums will be there at IWS. (And those who are going, ensure you bring a non-perishable food item or cash to donate. And bring the noise (only) when our defence is on the field!) But those who can't make it to IWS can discuss the game with their fellow Ticat fans here. So here we go.
WHAT – Tiger-Cats Gameday. Labour Day. Tiger-Cats vs. Alouettes.
WHO - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Montreal Alouettes.
WHY – To see if the Ticats can improve their record to 5-4 and move ahead of the Als into second place in their division.
WHERE - Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton, Ontario.
WHEN - Monday, September 5th, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
HOW - Radio: CHML (900 kHz AM) or Y108 (107.9 MHz FM) broadcasting from Hamilton.
Click here to view CFL.ca's live scoreboard for recent games. You can click the link to view this game's scoreboard whenever it becomes available, which will likely be just after the opening kickoff.
Click here to view Drew Edwards' blog. He'll likely keep his blog updated during the game.
Click here for the game preview on Ticats TV. I'm sure some will agree with Khari Jones' comments.
Click here for today's weather forecast. At the time I'm posting this, there is a 30% probability of precipitation this afternoon and winds of 15 km/h are expected. And at time this was posted, it was expected that the temperature will be about 17 degrees Celsius.
Here we are. Labour Day. The opponent may be different this time, but this game can still be considered a must-win. The Ticats need this win if they want to have a chance of hosting a playoff game. If they lose, they will drop below .500 and it'll be hard to imagine them not being 4-6 after the rematch next Sunday in Montreal. The opponent may be different, although the rivalry between these two teams does seem to be heating up. This should be an entertaining game, maybe even a classic, or classique as it being called. Let us hope the theme today will be this: Different Labour Day opponent. Same Labour Day intensity and crowd noise. Familiar Labour Day result: Ticat win.
