TORONTO — Canadian quarterback Kurtis Rourke has been selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the 227 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Drafted 7th in the 3rd round and 25th overall, he would be a steal if he played in the CFL.
Does Kurtis Rourke Ever Play in the CFL?
As I said for Nathan, I just wish for him what he wishes , and I hope he gets a career in the NFL , and give his opprtunity in the CFL to a canadian QB
Much like Nathan, he would have to exhaust all of his realistic NFL opportunities first which I think is 3 years away.
But then yes, I can see him being in the CFL eventually.
Low probabilities for extended contracts for all but for those in the top half of the first round of every draft, not that the rest won’t still be playing for a few more seasons, are why I see Kurtis Rourke headed ultimately for the CFL, barring severe injury or extreme outperformance in the NFL (i.e. a rare low-round draft pick like Tom Brady in the most extreme example, Kurt Warner (an arena league transfer), or now still playing and the starter for two seasons with the 49ers, Brock Purdy).
today I saw on TSN+ a mini-documentary of 11 minutes called the other Rourke, I liked it a lot, it is very motivating and made me feel some joy and pride for someone totally unknown.
I hope he has a good career there.
