KRYK: Why NFL rules committee opposes gaffe-preventing ‘sky judge’

Specifically, we learned on Friday morning’s conference call with Vincent and committee chairman Rich McKay – in advance of the league’s annual meeting, Sunday to Wednesday in Phoenix – that committee members are unanimously opposed to the concept of an eighth, so-called “sky judge? official who could stop the game to correct blatant officiating gaffes on the field, both calls and non-calls alike.

I might be alone in feeling this because of my technology-hating ways, but I just miss the human element that used to be the CFL before coaches challenges, “eye in the sky.”
