Kournegay to Sask. for receivers Thyron Anderson and Jason French as announced by Ted michaels on CHML’s Sunday show.

I like the trade – Anderson should be a solid receiver for us.

French needs to step up now that he’s in a new mix to establish himself beyond a fifth receiver.

thought kornegay would be cut anyways must have somrething to do with futures in the flick trade or something

I'm concerned about the receiving corp.

anderson a big target 6:4 was a useful receiver in montreal previously in 2004 he got over 1100 yds.
french a non import will add more experience/depth

Its great that we have 2 new and experienced rec. for a so so DB but I just don't get why witherspoon and gardner were cut.

I would imagine curry is the main import from the looks of it.

along with curry i think bouman may end up being a starting wide out alas andrew grigg, i think jo jo walker and alston were in place as far as import room.

anderson is useless...only shows up with his A-game every 4 games or so.

french is inconsistant aswell.

i don’t get the french thing he’s 29 and not much more than a 6th receiver,
and i won’t rehash the morreale thing and wonder why.

With the acquisition of Thyron Anderson and Jason French, and with the release of Talman Gardner, the Ticats now have 47 players on their active roster. One player from the active roster will have to be moved to the developmental roster or released outright today.

French has very little significance in this trade, but he does have some potential,

Kornegay is gone? about time! consistently burned all over the field for the past couple seasons. I take it we FINALLY got someone better than him...I hope

Anderson is another Cavil and French is another Brock Ralph. I'm not really crazy about this trade I would have prefered they signed Mitchel.

Marcel knows Anderson from MTL so lets defer on this one to him and see what he can do. French has been inconsistent; maybe a change of scenery will help him.

Kornegay would have probably been released so I like having options for the staff.

True, but the way Anderson plays is a lot similar to Cavil.

And I agree about Kornegay, this must have been part of the Butler trade. If Butler was named the starter and had lit it up in the preseason then this trade wouldn’t have happened.

I love this trade.

I thought Tad was going to be released anyway. So to see Anderson and French come in, I feel a little better about our receivers now.

Kornegay for either French or Anderson is a good trade for both...well, it's just a steal.

Throw in French, Holmes, Alston, Walker and Arceneaux into the mix and look out, I think we have depth and versatility in our receiving corps.

I dont understand this way of thinking… all 3 players were likely to be cut. All this did was allow both teams to get players they probably would have tried to sign anyways. These 2 receivers were not going to crack the Saskatchewan roster so instead of cutting them, we get them under their current salary and contract. Great move as far as im concerned, and if they dont look good? Cut’em. Wont matter one bit.
