Kiss the 2024 Witches v.VI - OT Victory!

No matter what Suitor says, that was clear and obvious DPI in OT

The first half really sucked for the Offence. It started with BO-O letting the ball clank off his hands for what would have been a huge gain.

BLM and the receivers didn’t seem to be on the same page to start the game.
The Defence seemingly forgot how to tackle.
Zero coverage on Special Teams.

We suffered a few injuries in this game that we never got any updates on. Peters with a head or neck injury in the first half, Bridges on a low hit after a catch, and Bell with what looks like a rib injury.

The second half was vintage BLM. I think he had completions to ELEVEN different receivers, and he went back to BO-O when it mattered for a FD followed by a TD.
BOTH 2-point converts were successful.
The trick double-reverse and pass to the QB in the end zone was a thing of beauty.

Litre is a workhorse. STs, short yardage, regular plays, and coming in at the end for the injured Bell. Got a 9-yd reception in OT, then had the “sneak” for the FD. Of course, there was the 1-yard plunge for the winning TD.

Now it’s time to crap totally on a player. This player had a BAD game, and he really hasn’t had a good season (other than the gift INT), and he’s far too undersized to play DB. Richard Leonard is, quite simply, our weakest link in the Secondary.

He’s too short, and too weak to play this game. The ONLY thing he has going for him is his experience. He was beaten like a government mule all game. He’s obviously a Mark Washington guy, and the sooner he’s replaced the better. The only thing is, we have nobody capable to replace him. He’s up there in age, so hopefully this will be his last season on this team.

The TEAM showed a lot of grit - both Offence and Defence. Timely stops, forced incompletions, making Rourke run all over the backfield, and inspired pass-catching.

I’m going to savour this for a while.

It’s too late for a full set of thoughts from me but Bo was a Tuck drop away from obliterating the consecutive completions record.

That was an offensive masterclass from Coach and QB. :+1:

Boveralls 4-0 now?

BLM was 29/30 in the second half. Hsd Tuck made that catch, the record, as @Crash mentioned, would have been obliterated.

Another example of Suitor’s bias: On Hamilton’s drive to take the lead, he criticized Hamilton for not getting out of bounds to stop the clock. On the next possession, with BC driving to tie the game, he commented that they had tons of time.

And doubled down, on the second last play of regulation. He assumed the 3rd-and-2 would be automatic, and talked about the only reason BC went for the field goal was due to “clock management”

Posting at 2:25 a.m., something I don’t think I’ve ever done before.

After last week’s game I posted that I needed to see one more game before I could join what seemed to be the majority, of contributors here, already riding on the “Bo Bandwagon.”

At half-time, tonight, with 8 of 13 for 36 yds., an INT, an average pass gain of 2.8 yds. and a longest completion of 7 yds, I was certainly, thinking there’s the under-throw, over-throw Bo, I was afraid I’d be seeing, again, too soon.

But, then came the 2nd half.
Could you all move over, just a bit, to give me room to jump onboard?
I’m definitely ready to, now.
Oh, what a night!

Last OT win for Hamilton was Oct.21, 2016. 39-36 over Ottawa. I believe John Chick sealed that one with a strip sack.

Maybe next week could be a preview of the Western final😉

Our Canadian receivers…Smith, O’Leary Orange and Ternowski…all contributed key catches at key moments tonight.

And we are watching a Hall of Fame QB play at a Hall of Fame level.

Great experience at BC Place tonight. Beautiful stadium. With the roof closed and the big scoreboard hanging over the field, it felt like a huge hockey arena. The Lion organization puts on a good show. It’s just too bad that there’s not more appreciation for this team and the CFL in Vancouver. It was ridiculous telling locals this week that we were here to watch the Lions play the TiCats and the blank stares I was getting. I heard a half dozen times, “Are you talking about the Whitecaps?”

Did you find the white pants at The Bay, alng with the gold shoes?

Really not a fan of the way Kats is playing right now. He’s losing pretty much every one on one battle with tackles. Maybe Panabaker deserves another start.

Kats is drinking his own Koolaid. He was way better last year. Always seems to want the big hit. He needs to tighten things up and play smarter. I like panabaker at safety

This team is special
They’ve got something going on here
and I love it!

Great win.
I hate these 10:30pm starts.
BLM for MOP. Full Stop.
I think Butler should have started, but I bet Bell broke ribs and is out for the season anyways.
Peters was back in the game by the 4th quarter but TSN made no mention ( of course).
Suitor tring to explain why that wasn’t PI in overtime might be the worst commentary I have ever heard in my lifetime. Even home boy Farhan was saying it was.
Every game, different recievers seems to shine.
Our run defense is still pretty weak and Winnipeg knows it.
Go Cats!

Finally, a game where the 'Cats have everything go their way instead of another heartbreaking loss. Suitor crying like a baby about the pass interference call was icing on the cake. His anti-Hamilton stance is obnoxious. Great to see four Canadians step up when we needed them most. Hats off to Smith, O’Leary-Orange, Ternowski (can’t believe I posted that) and Litre. Thought for sure Milo was going to bail on Bo in the second half and go with Powell. Funny how things can completely change half to half.

Bo should wear the Boveralls when he accepts the MOP award in November. (And despite the record, he should get the award. Nobody else near him.)

Litre is our Ouelette. But without the obnoxious personality.

I agree and he’s under-rated. Very valuable team member.

Some post game thoughts…

Felt alot like the Winnipeg game. We took an early gut punch but they didnt put us away, then Bo/Milo figured them out and took the lead late. The result was difference but I said in the game thread it felt like the Winnipeg game.

BLM is the MOP. Not necessarily because of the yardage or the stats, but by my count thats at least 5 game winning/go ahead drives this year. (Labour Day, At Toronto, At Ottawa, At Winnipeg, At BC) - We didnt win all of those games, but that shouldn’t hurt his case.

We witnessed one of the best 2nd half of football from a QB/Offense you’ll ever see. Is it possible it wasnt garbage yards and stat padding early on and just taking some time to get things perfected combined with the worst D since the forward pass was introduced?

Nathan Rourke is suffering from not having a loaded team around him like he did a couple years ago - but he’s nowhere near the same guy. Im not blaming him for this entirely but he doesn’t have the team he had. Did they make a mistake upsetting the apple cart bringing him back and making him starter so soon? Maybe this is why he didnt make an NFL team.

Mathieu “Marketing Money” Betts was invisible

Ticats OLine continues to be the best unit on this team - when Bo has all day and can get it out on schedule this team is dangerous

Receivers made plays when they had to - Tim White made a great jumping catch, BO-O the same after an early drop that seemingly set the tone for the game.

As stated above Litre is the soul of this team - he does a little bit of everything and it can’t be overstated how important he is to the offense.

Glen Suitor was at his absolute worst last night. With 2 mins left at the BC 30 he said the Cats are now in hurry up mode, he then said Bo running and sliding for 5 yards (instead of fighting for more) was because of the clock. The diatribe he went on at the end of OT was embarrassing to the league as a whole. Farhan tried to reel him in but didnt stand a chance.

This is the second week in a row where a late challenge on a call (or no call) against us essentially won us the game - Milanovich has been incredible with his challenges this season

With the success Litre had last night on his sneaks - its just a reminder why Milo stuck with it last week, it’s (almost) automatic and less risky than any of the other ideas I read

We may have something here - this is a good football team. This win changes our fortunes when it comes to the playoffs because I think everyone was looking at the schedule and not being shocked if we lost this one. Winnipeg wont be easy - but we play them well at home and I think the donut box will be cooking next week.

I took the Ticats +1500 at the half - as I had a feeling.

Lastly, does anyone know Milanovich’s coaching record in his last, i dunno 30 or 40 games? I haven’t seen that one brought up lately.
