Kiss the 2024 Witches v.III - A TRUE Labour Day Classic

We were up 21-3 before we could blink.
Zero punts in the first half for us.
Tim White had an amazing half of football with two impressive receptions for TDs (with excellent passes by BLM).
Bell was a true weapon today both running and receiving.
Dunbar was breaking tackles to gain FDs on second-and-long.
Leigghio was perfect on PATs and FGs - including his longest of the season to score the winning points.
Tagovaiola, on his first Offensive play, scores a TD on a RPO play. I also liked him coming in as a change-of-pace and to eat the clock in the fouth quarter.
Unfortunately, we were shut-out for half the game, something that has become far too common this season.
Even though the Defence started playing a little “soft” and allowed TOR to get back into the game - and eventually take the lead, they came back and played aggressively on TOR’s final drive to force a 2-and-out.

I want ot point out a coaching mistake - by Dinwiddie on his very first posession by his unsuccessful Challenge on the INT.

I will be happy for a week.

Rick Zamperin has the 5th Quarter show on, and you can “call in” live now.

Not trying to complain after a win, but I find it infuriating when they get a big lead and then essentially just stop trying on offense.

Good summary DCF. My favourite plays were the one’s where Abuser/Predator got nailed. Love it! Also, we also must mention the “No Means No” chant (Crash recommended) by a large number of Cat fans (inspired by Bobo?) was fantastic.

Lots of entertaining and exciting offence, today, but our defence in the end, and special teams were why the TiCats managed to win. Constantinou’s 74 yd. punt started the comeback, with the game tying single and then TOR’s last two possessions, separated by “Leggs’” 55 yd. FG, were both 2 and outs.

Finally started a game strong and the other team turned the ball over on their first drive. Defense came up big at the end. Good job today, gentlemen.

Some interesting stats:
Penalties were 3-25 for us (No Yards, two Illegal Procedure (on the same down)) and 5-45 for TOR (including a No Yards).
Pretty clean game, and the Officials let the players play.

It was nice to see them finish out the game and not crap their pants like they did against Calgary, Sask and latest Winnipeg last week.
Very good coaching move not to have the run package to pick up a first down and eventually have Bo throw a bomb down field.
Good to see some depth players contributing like Tugalova and Litre getting tough yards.
…and of course the stars were shining Bo, Bell, White, Peters and the Dline/Oline.

Flew in for the game and no regrets. Lots of positives, many well documented already.

My only significant criticism from this one was the play call on the second last snap of the game. It was first down after the long completion to O’Leary-Orange and there was 0:48 left in the fourth quarter. The clock started when it was blown in. They did the right thing and let it run down to 0:29 before snapping it. Then Talia ran around a bit before getting tackled.

There was absolutely no reason for anything other than victory formation and a kneel down. Putting the ball in the hands of a rookie and letting him face contact was completely unnecessary. Fortunately no damage, but had he fumbled there that could have been a problem.

They figured it out on the next play and took a knee. As I said, no damage this time, but a tactical mistake nonetheless.

That drive from our 1-yd-line that took 6:30 off the clock into the wind deserves mention too.

Was just about to post the same thing myself. Did Milanovich not know Argos had already burned their last timeout? When I saw him line up in shotgun I had a bad feeling. Nevertheless, gutsy win. They did enough to hold off Toronto who you knew would be coming back and making adjustments. After a stellar first half Bo went into a bit of a funk throwing off target, not to mention a couple of drops by White. Defence finally stiffened up when it counted - still some of the same issues there with poor tackling, no pass rush but the overall effort seems better with the switch to Jones

This game looked like the team from the first 3-4 games of the year when we played well but felll short. Nice to see we’re capable of playing better then what we’ve seen lately.

Only complaint, why no fighter jet fly over of a clear sky day during the airshow??

This is low hanging fruit and they whiffed.

Pretty freaking great nail biter…

Nice to see the O getting out to a very fast start and putting Toronto on their knees. Give them credit for keeping the game close.

Our kicking game was absolutely stellar.

Greg Bell will be displacing a very talented back in Butler. He is fast, can juke and spin his way to first downs with power. Good call by Milo.

Great Game for White. Keep it going.

Our O-line is giving our QB’s ample time to make the plays and is getting some gaps open for our backs.

Robinson is clutch when we need a solid 7 or 8 yards. I’ve seen this for a long stretch now. Great option in a big guy that is hard to take down.

We still need to be on the lookout for bigger and stronger DB’s (can we try to clone Peters?).

Ternowski may be decent on special teams but it is unforgivable for him to not be on the line and cause a completely unnecessary procedure penalty. Thankfully Leggs crushed that 55 yarder but a touchdown would have been a hell of a lot better lead than the three. This guy is wasting a roster spot IMO.

Great bomb to OLO to close it out. Very happy for Bo. Nice to see Tagliavola get some meaningful game reps. Did Bo refer to him as the best #2 in the league? I thought I heard that on the broadcast.

On to Ottawa for a crucial game.

Dare to dream? I am at this moment.

I think Bo was tongue and cheek referring to himself.

Duh! (Me) Thanks Crash. 100% spot on. I love it. He seems to have a nice dry sense of humour. Lemonade anyone?

I love the work of Litre when we were hemmed in back on the one.

No need to hold onto Tuck.
