Kiss the 20201 Witches Thread vol. II

Any Labour Day Classic where we stomp on the blew team (or at least beat them black and double-blue in a loss) is a good day.
Evans looked in complete control.
Offence, Defence (Simoni), and Special Teams (Frankie) scoed majors.
Garbage-time blew team TD notwithstanding, our Defence was pretty darned stout. Wynn and Davis getting sacks are huge.
Speedy and Dane HAVE to get on the same page, but Dane spread the ball to everyone this game.

Good game gentlemen!

-Defense played well
-Mason Bennett got his first Sack
-Rolle had a great game in coverage
-Oline cut the sacks in half and Dane got the ball out faster
-Frankie does it again for the special teams
-Still need to run the ball more

HAM goes from CFL’s only winless team to first place in their division in just 10 days. It’s the kind of thing that drives non-CFL fans crazy.

All 3 phases played well. If anything, O is still lagging a bit.

TOTAL team win! WAY to GO TICATS!
Home field does have it's advantages! And it was PAST time for the Ticats to play at home!

Improvement, progress accross the board.
Whatever problems this team has it isn't coaching.
Gibson and Oline made a statement today they're aren't a lost cause.

I think Evans and Condell seem to be a better skill match than Masoli and Condell. With Evans, they run more, and use more of their receivers. Don’t know if it’s Condell’s play calls, or Evan’s execution, but the offence has definitely looked better the last two games.

Yes the Tiger-Cats are playing very well 18,000 years from now.

That wasn’t a year, it’s a zip code. You don’t understand our culture.

Also, there's the change, for these two wins, of having Condell on the sideline.
This was a good team victory. Our offence only scored 19 pts,, the same as the other guys'. And, all points, against and for, scored early or in "garbage time," in games with divisional opponents can end up being import at season's end.

The opening drive in 3 of the 4 games looked like the Ti-Cat offence would be unstoppable. Even in that dreadful opener in Winnipeg with Masoli at the helm. Once the opposition's defence tightens up though our offence is not quite as smooth. Evans was still able to move the ball well enough every few drives to keep the field position in our favour.

If not for TDs by the Defence and Special Teams then the score would have been a lot closer. But the main thing is that good teams find a way to win with all phases of their game and not just on the QB and Offence.

Sounds about right Palmer. Masoli seemed to thrive in June Jones "run & shoot" offence. He threw for 5200 yards in 2018 with a decent TD/Interception ratio. Under Condell's system he seems more tentative. Maybe it was the garbage O-Line or maybe Condell's offence not quite suited to Masoli's skillset, such as QB draws.

Also White missed a makeable TD catch the first qtr.

The team was workmanlike today, with occasional big plays at crucial times. Even when it was tied at 3 you never got the sense the wheels were going to fall off or they weren’t in control. Makes a difference getting Davis and especially Wynn back. Oline settling down a bit. Team seems to have a bit of mojo again.

This is going to be a nasty rivalry with three more head to head games through the year if today is any indication. Thought the Cats were pretty disciplined today and didn’t get drawn into a lot of retaliation penalties.

Have to add nice job by Desmond Lawrence filling in at left corner.

Congratulations Hamilton, they won this game decisively, long time coming, but they looked like 2019 again

Thanks. Nice road win by your Bombers, quite a defence over there in The Peg.

Masoli looked very good in a Condell offense in 2019 before he tore his ACL and when he had a decent OL. OL play - while not stellar yet - has been better the past couple of games for Dane. AND the D has been rounding into their more dominant form the past couple of games and the return game has been better generally resulting in more favourable field position. Even if Masoli had been in at QB, I think the Ticats would have won both last week and today.

Not one comment about the game on the Blew team's page. Sad. All of the teams and their fans need each other to keep this league sustainable.
