Kirk Douglas at the age of 103 passed away today .
Known especially for Spartacus and Paths Of Glory for me .
Never known anything but good things about Kirk .
He was a star of the golden age of movies . After Doris Day passed away there were not many left from that era .
Kirk was also a veteran of WW2 serving in the United States Navy .
