No question he's the most qualified QB to suit up in Montreal since AC retired, just a shame its so late. The best the Als can hope for is a crossover and that's a tall order considering they play in Toronto and Edmonton. Really the only game they should be considered a favorite to win is at home against Saskatchwan and that won't be enough.
Tanner Marsh injured his knee in TC, missed the first third of the season.
Crompton went down in season opener, missed six games. Now back on the 6-game.
LeFevour went down in season opener.
Cato is on the IR with his second serious injury of the year.
Yes I think Montreal has bought some time for Cato to develop under a competent if not great QB. This is likely the end of the road for Marsh as he’ll likely be released as soon as Glenn is up to speed and so will Crompton in the off season. For next season I expect we’ll see Glenn-Lefevour-Cato-Boone on the depth chart. Bridge I think will go elsewhere in the off season…maybe Ottawa, Hamilton or Winnipeg?
No kidding it’s against forum rules, there has been personal insults going on in other forum thread discussion. So MadJack, why are you singling out cflisthebest anyway?
Kevin Glenn wanted to come East since he left the Ti-Cats and later Redblacks he's a lot closer to his offseason home and business in the Detroit area.
!!! Marsh and Crompton would be Scooped up Quickly. Not so much for Cato or Lefevour Never mind GLEN
Cato is a fracture unless major mental correction about playing in CFL
I bet it is all a conspiracy. I bet the organization is paying all of those guys big bucks under the table to drop like flies just to get Anthony C. out of retirement. lol
So with the trade for Glenn, that will make a whopping total of 7 different players on the Alouettes this season that have taken snaps as their quarterback. I’m just wondering if this is some type of unofficial record or close to one for the most quarterbacks used in a season by one team ? Anybody else ever remember one team using this many different quarterbacks in a single season before ? I can remember some seasons when certain teams may have used perhaps 5 or 6 different qbs but 7 different qbs ? Wow !!! and to think that for over a decade before this debacle in Montreal that basically the ONLY qb the Als ever needed or really played was the Great Anthony Calvillo. It’s kinda crazy when you think about it that the Alouettes have gone from having one of the Greatest to ever play the game and incredible stability at the position to having this crazy carousel of questionable or mediocre"s playing quarterback all in the last two and a half seasons. It really makes one realize how ironic and fast things can change so quickly in the world of professional sports.
Actually its like a bunch of people making half cooked meals. At some point you don’t even know what’s what. So far they’ve managed to keep the defense steady and improve the ST greatly over last season. Really its the offense that is badly broken. So in the off season they really only need to focus on that area and with some aging players on defense probably. Its not like some Hamilton and Bomber teams over the last decade that were bad all around.
Good trade for all involved. Kevin Glenn goes to a team in playoff contention. The Riders got what they could for a guy who likely wasn't going to be around next year anyway. And Montreal only gives up a 5th rounder to get a player to fill an obvious void on the team.
O'Day showed a lot of maturity and respect in this. Class move to allow a 15 year vet an opportunity to write his own story now that the Riders are eliminated.
