if we lose Glenn, we will regret letting go of Adam, but lets not talk about losing Glenn, this thread was to show off his talent, because he really is the most underrated QB in this league, he will lead this team to greatness again!
Porter just needs to be coached and get more playing experience, that's it.if the coaches thought in anyway that he was toast and would never be able to start, he'd have been off the roster a while ago.
Porter just needs to be coached and get more playing experience, that's it.if the coaches thought in anyway that he was toast and would never be able to start, he'd have been off the roster a while ago. There are QB's like Lulay that can pick the game up right away but then there are guys like Porter and Calvillo that take a little time.
Who are you to judge the "football smarts" of a Professional football player? Porter has struggled and I like what I've seen from Lulay but I have no idea what Porter knows about the game of football nor do I know what "football knowledge" Lulay possesses.
There's a big drop-off from Glenn to Porter. Porter is ok but I don't think he has what it takes to become one of the elite QBs like Calvillo or Burris. Glenn is pretty close and should be even closer this season with better guys around him.
Kevin Glenn Mr Overrated on Ticats.ca He's has yet to win a big game for us but has been very bad in several of them while being very good in easier games. Porter may or may not be the answer but Glenn has demonstrated conclusively that he isn't
It's funny you say that because I do remember him throwing for 440 yards in the 09' ESF despite having a lackluster running game.
In that same year, he took over as the starter when we were 6-8 and the playoffs were beginning to slip away. In the 4 remaining regular season games he went:
107-156 (69%) for 1381 yards (345 per game) and 6 Touchdowns to just 2 Interceptions. A record of 3-1 in those games.
Then there's that year when he was the East Divisions M.O.P. and took his team to the Grey Cup.
Porter isn't the issue, Glenn is. We can't win with him. Last year I said he would prove me wrong, he didn't. This year I still hope he proves me wrong. As for Porter and your continual issue of saying he isn't any good, who cares. I didn't say he was or was not and any issue you have about what I didn't say is solely your own
And I remember a guy who couldn’t perform when it counted in the 4th in 09 and the entire game in 10 and we lost both. When he actually wins a meaningful game in Hamilton my attitude may change. I hope he proves me wrong but I’m convinced he won’t
AK, great to see your ripe for the season again, Kevin bassing as always. If I recall the cats have had a winning, or at least a .500 team ever since Glenn got the job. Prior to Kevin this team was one of the worst in the league..
I can't Glenn bass. I don't have a fishing license. Glad to see you aren't interested in seeing Glenn's shortfalls. Sure we are better but thats a left handed compliment. How could we be worse? I just hope we are able to develop a QB that give the team an opportunity to take the next step. If that is Glenn I'm OK with that but I hope all involved can see beyond Glenn
Oh my Doc !! Come on now, aernt you the one thats made a carreer of bashing Porter? AKT only states the facts and thats not bashing at all, because the facts he states are true, two 9-9's and two early exits . Thats far from the success I hope for as a fan.
The spark in this current team was lit when Porter took over from Printers on a very bad team, sure he faltered after that but he did something that other CFL vets couldnt do in Hamilton. I believe Porter should have stayed in during the playoff loss last year and that the outcome would have been different had he. We ll never know I guess because Glenn went back in injured and we all know what happened.
That said its clear that Glenn is the starter and this is his team, question is, if .500 is all we get again, is that enough?
