Kerry Joseph Not Starting

And now back to some REAL football news, or at least speculation that might actually matter.

Kerry Joseph is not starting on Sat according to the Riders fan site. I have not found a link yet but this is the best I have.

Not surprising if true. It sounded like Crandell was going to get most of the reps in practice this week, from comments made on TSN.

Oski Wee Wee,

Kerry has missed all 3 days of practice this week.

Greg Harder of the Regina Leader Post reports in today's column (quoting Danny Barrett) that Joseph WILL suit up on Saturday, but it is not determined as yet whether he will start after three days rest to his knee.

If Crandell starts and is either ineffective or goes down (they have been watching our game films), Joseph will be perfectly capable of taking over, if he does not, in fact, start the game.

Some doubts if their starting DE will be serving a suspension or whether the appeal will let him play...

You can read about it at www.canada.com/saskatoon/starphoenix/ if you can still catch the Thursday page...

well if crandell starts it doesnt make a differnce, there both good qb's but we stand a better chance with a guy who hasnt played a down this year, especialy since our secondary defence is all mixed up from injury

Lifter,

That was published this morning, however today it was announced today (By Danny Barrett) that Marcus would start.

TSN just showed the interview on Sportscentre.

Crash

Sorry, I live in a "different time zone", where you get to look at things on the web about 2000 hrs on "good nights"...

Either way, I'd sooner we played Marcus with a bit of rust on him, as the Green Machine has some pretty dynamite receivers, and we will be missing Cody and perhaps Shaw, both of whom add a lot to our D.

Saskatchewan missing Junneak, and whoever else, and the pressure being on our "O" to perform, I simply hope our game plan figures a way around Nate Davis, who is a "force" for Saskatchewan. Aside from their D-Line, they seem to be having defensive problems that might give our O an opportunity to get it togethyer at long last.

An interesting thing of Corey Holmes returning to the re-named Taylor Field.

Saskatchewan just as desparate for a win as Hamilton, and home field advantage...this should be some great entertainment!

The losers are going to have some hard facts to face in their respective Divisions.

It makes it more interesting that Barrett (apparently) will start his second stringer, (against our reasonably good defence) where we would not dare do so against their "suspect" D...

Saskatchewan "game day" meal of steak and perogies (mushrooms, fried and spring onions, tomato salad) on tap for the night, with beer and tomato juice and ham/garlic and pepperoni sticks happening on offer here...computer rigged to the game thread, CHML on the stereo and game on the TV...

Best Regards
