But it’s a LAST CHANCE not a “second chance.” And it’s on and off the field for Kelly.
It was not merely he said she said, for that does not fly, so that’s also another lie you tell after what has been a well-reported and thorough investigation by the CFL. Read the CFL’s report, and read Kelly’s acceptance of the suspension and also his apology for some of his wrongdoing.
The whaboutism does not work, for this is about Kelly and not the NFL, so nice try there too.
Again, LAST CHANCE not second chance, he’s already had that, and society is just fine without Kelly around playing in the CFL if he can’t measure up on his LAST CHANCE.
He’s getting his fair shot now, and it’s up to him, and it’s NOT somebody else’s fault for the situation he is in now. He’s no victim as you try to portray him either.
Speaking of which, any words of sympathy from those making comments like these ever for the victim, who otherwise has her lawsuit settled out of court, but has to find a new job?
We never hear those in the same breath of such slobbering sympathy for the likes of Kelly.
Just wondering for the many posters feeling sympathy for Kelly.
If a drunk driver kills your most loved one and then feels sorry for his mistake, even if you were to forgive him, would you also want him to face no punishment?
Thanks for sharing your very insightful observations Paolo. I must admit I did not make any attempt to find all the necessary details. As far as I’m concerned every citizen on this planet deserve a honest second chance.
Note: On a lighter note I’m picking my hometown Toronto Argonauts to defeat the Riders in the Week 12 opener. I also like the Bombers-Redblacks and the Elks as my upset special
Where in the world did you get it is a he said she said the woman had eye witnesses .open your eyes READ the stuff written and research for 10 seconds …look at the evidence abundant than what you just want to see for you make Kelly look innocent in your eyes
Grow up and drop the Mysogonistic male attitudes .
Uh, that’s the point of having proper policies and enforcement in place in the workplace, and in society.
We stopped waiting for women or people to be attacked before doing more a long time ago, especially in the 1990s in the US in the workplace.
Far more prior efforts, as the Argos attempted to do on this one, were simply to sweep allegations under the rug: “Nothing to see here! Please disperse!” and all that nonsense.
Chad Kelly worked in the US and no doubt received some training along those lines, given by all businesses and organizations over a certain size and on all college campuses, for years now.
His record in Canada also follows him back as well with any new prospective employer.
I cannot believe you just said that
He did not kill anyone.
I have personally seen men threaten violence to women or even sexual violence.
I have seen what that threat does to a victim
You have no freaking idea what you are taking about when you allude it is ok because there was no physical violence.
I hope if you have a daughter that nobody ever just words or threats to her well being
Even if you have a son, getting threat of with actually no physical contact is life altering.
You need to open your eyes
Even more appalling to me is that somehow also Kelly is the guy and the occasion they select so as to profess such beliefs to be soft on such harassment,
and in the US such would be defined as sexual harassment and need not be of a sexual or intimate nature in the workplace when between the sexes,
so when it’s coming from an American or anybody with work experience or business ownership in the US, it’s even more appalling.
More hypocritical is from the same lot you will hear that we are too soft on crime as well, with whom I would agree at times mind you.
Once again as I have seen either unknown north of the border by some or has been simply overlooked in the reporting and in these threads, Kelly himself has been exposed to such training associated with such laws since the 1990s in the US.
Anybody also investing in a business and/or working in the US well knows these strict laws and how the actions of any employee in a business can seriously impact the operations of that business and the liability of the owners, so why in the world even on a shallow and strict business front would one want to profess some sort of status to Chad Kelly so as to further some cause!?
For those who are business-minded wondering now who might think, “Well the business has insurance for that!” the answer there is overwhelmingly, but for the very largest multinationals, insurance does not cover damages awarded to victims of such misconduct in the workplace or that which is determined to be discrimination under the law.
Absolutely % correct, I personally know several adult ladies, who when young experienced negative attention from people (Sometimes trusted people) that only surfaced much later in life from a completely innocent comment, these suppressed memories are extremely real and crippling.
Kelly is a re-re-re-repeat offender. I’m sure he apologized for all the other incidents in the U.S., while promising to “work on himself to become a better man, better teammate, better male…(etc, etc.)” He will burn his “last chance” in the CFL with the same torch he used on the others. He will be gone before long and we can finally get back to enjoying football instead of tearing into each other on this forum as if it were some s***ty pathetic Facebook page.
Ha Ha Ha, torch. Funny thing, after you torch all the bridges behind you, you’ll find yourself alone on an island where nobody will rescue you from yourself.
His previous incidents were back in 2014, when he was 19 years old. One incident he was arrested while drunk and disorderly, I think we have all been there, 19 and away at Uni
In hearing some things like this about past occurrences from girlfriends and other women, sometimes perhaps it was an old teacher, trainer, or coach, I didn’t learn more on this front until much later in life either, which would have been during the time I joined this forum.
One question asked by some guys is
“Well, I’ve known her for years! Why didn’t she say anything!?”
The experience, memory, and trauma are THAT painful and not easy to discuss with others is the answer there.
And it’s also often somebody you know well including female relatives, which can make discussions harder.
Oh I had much to learn then and after that age, but no, I had never been there though drunk and disorderly on occasion. I would not presume to speak for anybody on such a front for the sake of how they handled themselves when drunk and disorderly, but let’s just say if somebody went there, they either got caught and then some or they got away with it only to show up later in life anyway. Those guys don’t change on their own.
Some dudes don’t get it until they face harsh consequences, including a good figurative smack in the face by these things called law and life let alone the high expenses associated with such allegations.
Or also a good beat-down from another dude in his lady’s life whom he did not know about, plus his friends.
I hope whoever has whether here or anywhere learned their lessons a long time ago before maturing.
Kelly clearly did not and I’m not convinced he has yet, for not all dudes make it on this front. A very short time will now tell.
I too can’t wait for this CFL era to be over. What concerns me more than even Kelly now is how for some reason he’s the chosen saint for a cause for some dudes who still think what he did was no big deal or is okay at work or in society.
That reality is far more telling now AFTER Kelly has admitted wrongdoing and apologized for wrongdoing, including their total ignorance of the facts of this case that including such admissions and apologies and the accepted punishment.
I won’t be drawn into this any further than saying given the man’s multiple documented incidents in the past (as an ADULT), it strongly suggests that the future will hold true the same. He will finally be gone, and everyone on this sports forum can take a deep breath and try to remember why we are here.
Nineteen year old people will do some stupid things… Kelly isn’t 19 years old now and STILL doing stupid stupid stupid things, by the time I reached 30 years old, I had purchased my second house been married and divorced with 2 children, paying support and raised my children 50% of the time. Without any assistance from anyone. Never been arrested (have had some traffic incidents) otherwise lived a clean life. Worked till 62.
