VANCOUVER — Justin McInnis caught 14 passes for 241 receiving yards as the BC Lions held a strong comeback push by the Roughriders to capture a 35-20 win at BC Place on Saturday.
To think … , to think the saskatchewan roughriders brainthrust of gm jeremy o’day and team president craig reynolds let Qb Vernon Adams Jr. and reciever Justin McInnis walk away for absolutely nothing in return to their team. Vernon Adams Jr. and Justin McInnis were pivitol in the BC Lions victory over the lowly roughriders from saskatchewan today in CFL action as they have been so far this season for the Roaring Lions. Pure athletic gold Vernon & Justin.
Your point would be 100% accurate if you didn’t lower yourself to call the 4-1 Riders “lowly”. Just keeping in mind for you who the lions were tied with for first until tonight.

Everything wrong with the Saskatchewan Roughriders organization was on display again in BC with the Lions very good football club showing off their player talent, Hello there Vernon Adams Jr. and Justin Mcinnis. Excellent former Roughrider players who were released by riders gm Jeremy O"Day so dotted across the CFL on others rosters shows Roughriders team management inept and should definitely should not be in those crucial professional football executive positions. The lowly Saskatchewan Roughriders are in repeat mode aa in previous years, win a few to start the season then slowly tank to the bottom of the West CFL Conference. You can’t buy a Grey Cup on expensive free agents or changing up the coaching staff, the Roughriders had a Grey Cup Championship Head Coach (Hello Jaaon Maas) right under their nose along with a Championship qb (Hello Cody Fajardo) but both got the boot out of Riderville.
Jarri I can see you are a fan that cares… much like me and my Lions. We all go through hard times as a fan but don’t let it eat you up inside. The Riders are looking much better than last year and for the first time in a while… teams fear and respect them again.
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life🍻
Go Lions Go
Every cfl team is made up of another teams past draft picks and cast offs. That’s inevitable in a 9 team league with 1 and 2 year contracts. Bane Jr, Godber come to mind. Hindsight is the ultimate blindness of a weekend warrior Monday morning quarterback.
You’re right about Adams and McCinnis. Same about Mass and Fafardo. Being a Sask fan I couldn’t agree more. But it’s not possible to have Collaros, Fajardo and Adams all back on our roster. But show me a team that doesn’t have these struggles. How lowly were the lions just a few years ago?
Anyhow, see you in the west final and I’d say see you in November in BC place but i likely won’t as I doubt you’ll come to see the Riders and the ALS
Thank you, you’re absolutely right. I’m actually a fan of all CFL teams while wanting franchise parity and success across the league for all. Vernon Adams Jr. plus Justin Mcinnis both former Roughriders and their game performance yesterday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders a game to behold for all CFL fans. Go Lions, Go Roughriders. Go Go Go CFL. Thank you again Lion-king for your perspective, Take care.
I’m happy with the win but still have concerns. Hollins had a sub par game forcing VA to rely on mainly one receiver. The rushing game was nonexistant. And the defence gave up too many big plays. Lots for Rick Campbell to work on. But I am confident he can do it.
“The Riders then pulled another trick out of their sleeve by calling for an onside kick to steal a possession away from the Lions.”
You guys have to stop parroting the NFL. All players have to be onside on every single kickoff. I recall there was one in this game when a SSK player wasn’t, and he was flagged for it.
Some will argue that “onside” means that the ball has to go 10 yards, but: 1) When has a team ever tried to kick the ball less than 10 yards on a kickoff? 2) The 10-yard rule is only for the kicking team to recover it. The ball can go any distance, including backwards (if it’s possible to kick it backwards… maybe the wind?).
The short kick was really well executed, though, and still sporting, unlike MTL’s onside, dribble punts.
Winnipeg Head Coach didn’t want to go undefeated 2024; felt team “needed” early team losses to build team tune up for the push to another Grey Cup Championship appearance.
