John "Dusty" Millar - passed away suddenly last night.
Rest in peace my friend. The CFL and Ticats lost one if it's biggest fans and the Box J Boys have lost one of their own.
John was one of the first people to welcome me and to have a beer with me at the Box J Boy tailgate. He was always a great guy to Natalia and I. We'll miss you.
I'll pass on funeral arrangements when they are announced.
"Dusty" was a good friend to all CFL fans and an all around GREAT GUY! It's a shame that just as he reaches his retirement he passes on without completing "bucket list".
Check this "Ticats TV" segment to remember who he was. (see him at the 43 second mark)
Although I didn't know "Dusty," I'm sure I've seen him around and am saddened by his passing, particularly that it so closely coincided with his retirement. We all know that, on the field, it takes a long time for a rookie to take the place of a seasoned CFL veteran. I believe, In the stands, it take even longer. Condolences to his family, friends, and the Tiger-Cat Football Club.
R.I.P. Johnny.
Life really is unfair a lot of the time. Doesn't seem right that someone works all of their life and doesn't get to enjoy their retirement. It happens all too often.
Thanks for sharing the pics. I never met him, but I saw him often around the stadium and when passing through the tailgate lot. It's obvious he loved life and always had a smile on his face.

Family, friends and Box J brothers said good bye to a friend today. Johnnie I know you were with at the Attic this evening.
We'll miss you, and by the way. Your seat will be waiting for you on Monday buddy!
Donations in John's honour can still be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Please note: As an act of remembrance, there will be no bands at the Box J Boy Tailgate on Monday. Instead we will be playing some of John's favourite music.
