Yeh, but the only way to make first string is play on special teams, do whatever and you never know when, or if, you're chance will come. In Tindale's case, I think he got a career ending knee injury. Unfortunate but he made his money and can tell his buddies he made an NFL team, which, and let's face it guys and gals, would impress more people than saying you made it big in the CFL, especially with the import quota which a lot of people regard as well "you made it big in the CFL but only because they have to have so many Canadians." I don't think that way but loads of people out there do. And then they say this contributes to the overall lack of quality of play in the CFL.
i dont know about that , you hear the names that played here like Lancaster , Allen , Clemons , and they can make a carreer after they finish playing . Where as down thier you may make more money but wont be well known when your done playing .
So then the only way we can avoid wasting of Canadian Talent or any talent for that matter would be to have the CFL salaries the same as NFL.
What a dream that would be; two different leagues that have the same salary capabilities, so that a player can decide what league would best suit him according to how his skill fits in with the league. Then everyone would truly know that the CFL is in fact more exciting. What a dream!!
not really because not all great players in the nfl would translate into instant success to the cfl. the game is played different.
That's what I mean it would be cool to see how many athletes do in fact play better in the CFL, and also find out which league demands better athletes.
There is no truth to anything you said, Tindale was a special teams ace with the Bills, also was used a lot as a short yardage full back. In his last year he was their starting full back, unfortunately he only made it half way through the season before suffering a career ending injury.
Jesse may well end up back in Hamilton but it's something the GM and coaches may not be entirely happy about. There are a couple reasons for this. One is that if he plays 1st string as a Canadian, he allows the team to use an import elsewhere (which is a good thing). But RBs are prone to injury so if/when Jesse goes down, it will entail more than the usual amount of lineup juggling because replacing a 1st string Canadian RB with another Canuck is nearly impossible. If your 1st string RB is American, it's pretty straightforward to get another American back to fill in if the 1st stringer goes down. Another reason that a 1st string Canadian RB may not be that popular in some management quarters is that if he really delivers the goods, he'll be all that much more valuable to the team and therefore more expensive. That's one of the reasons the league has been reluctant to develop Canadian QBs. Can you imagine how much a legitimately 1st string Canadian QB could command in salary? Russ Jackson was paid very very well not only because he was a quality QB, but because he was a Canadian QB.
Jesse will be welcomed back to Hamilton if he doesn't make an NFL team but all I'm saying is that the feeling may not be universal.

As i read this post i thought now there’s a smart man. until of course i read the last line.
Couldn’t agree more. If managment had invested in their players and the product on the field instead of trying to create “Disneyland in the stands”, we may have been able to keep him here.
And say what you want, there is no promotion in the stands or jumbotron show that can compare with the excitement of watching Jesse run.
How much did that new scoreboard cost, anyway???
