Jason Shivers

The hits also come on special teams. Former Cats,Gordon, Thompson, and Goss are pretty good cover guys but they wouldn’t necessarily be called “thumpers”. They pretty much form the Esks secondary but I’d rather have the TiCat secondary.

Well I wasn't suggesting giving up hitting AND coverage

On paper I prefer a DB over six foot than under. However, that's assuming the taller guy can stay with the receiver and make the tackle first, hit later.

I think we would all like to have a couple of Gerald Vaughn types but he is probably a hall of fame defensive back. Both Shivers and Dennis are 6'1 with nasty dispositions. Their cover skills will improve but I'm not sure they will ever be "shutdown"defensive backs.

8) Mr. Bradley needs to take some lessons on how to tackle, from some old timer TiCats like Teddy Page and Zac Henderson.

Heyward should get more game time but after that I hope this unit can stay together.

Some of the current Cats know how to wrap up, especially the linebackers (JJ’s hit in Winnipeg comes to mind) and the rush ends. Or Barker. Actually, I’m thinking Bradley is our only weak tackler, firing himself at the receiver like a ballistic missile instead of wrapping the guy up. Maybe he thinks he’s too small to stop the receivers that way?

Finally some discussion about the football team. How refreshing!

And the best of them all…Paul Bennett,
