Jason Armstead....

Anybody know when Kai Ellis will be healthy? I'm not a huge fan of his, but he is a bigger body at MLB.

Man, it's been years now and we STILL haven't found anyone to replace Kevin Johnson. This failure to find a proper MLB and quality D-linemen is definitely a blemish on Popp's record.

I have a feeling Armsted's days are numbered

They'd better be. We're overstocked at receiver as it is, so if he can't cut it as a returner we should let him go.

He's been let go today.

Larry Taylor will replace him on Special teams. If he doesn't get blocking, he won't be anymore effective than Armstead.

In my opinion, we subtracted an Offensive threat.

He had four games to show he was money and did not... he caught a couple passes and was very average on returns. He wasn't clutch...

Larry Taylor has a lot of potential. He's a mini running back. I'm ok with it. I like Armstead but he didn't show much and when you look at the track record the last couple years there wasn nothing to show he wasn going to become an elite player again.

Source? I checked CFL.ca, the Als’ site, and the Gazette site, could find nothing…

Okay, just checked Herb's blog again, it's there so he's gone.

According to RDS:

Rayshaun Kizer was also released. I believe he deserves it after that awful penalty (he hit the kicker from behind) that gave the Riders a first down.

I am happy that Trestman is sending a clear message that such selfish idiocy will not be tolerated.

Did any of the media interview or ask Armstead why he took a knee? I couldn't beleive that. He left the Als in a hole. Why not squeeze the ball as tight as you can, put your head down and run? Any "plus" yardage would have given the offense more breathing room.

Taking a knee was confusing!

It's on TSN - Armstrongs cut and Carter in

Sporty, he said he was just concentrating on securing the ball, according to the interview he did shown on TSN on the highlights. It wouldn't surprise me if he got caught off-guard - it appeared the Als were looking for a short kick, and got caught too far up. I'm wondering if Armstead didn't half-think he was in the endzone after all was said and done, since he had to run so far back to get the ball.

It's a stretch, but it could work...

Wow,

Sorry wrong thread!

What a time for a brain cramp.....

Our special teams (schemes, exeuction, and coaching) were brutal, but so was Armstead. He was simply too expensive to keep given his performance thus far. This release makes perfect sense to me and will hopefully put the fear of God into players who think they are untouchable even if they play badly (cough, cough, Chip Cox).
