Hello fellow Rider Priders.
You may or may not have noticed a post on the main CFL forum started by JareCanada about a fundraiser for Cancer. Two years ago he started a fundraising initiative called CFL fans fight cancer and now wants each CFL team's fans to organize a raffle for a game worn Rider Jersey and the proceeds would go to a local Cancer Charity. I have told him that I am very interested, but I need to look into a few things first. One of those things is interest from other fans and potential help. First off, is there anyone else who would want to help with this. I live in Saskatoon so a lot of my contact with organizations in Regina would be limited to email for the most part and some Regina based help would be appreciated. Second, does anyone have contacts in different organizations that may be willing to sell tickets. Or a printing company that may be willing to donate the ticket printing costs. His idea is 1000 tickets at $10 a piece. Which brings me to my next question. Is $10 too much for raffle tickets with a game jersey as the top prize? It is a great goal ($10000) but it seems a little steep.... or am I just cheap? would 2000 tickets at $5 or have a 1 for $5, 3 for $10 kind of deal? Finally, the charity I have in mind is the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer. I know this is a Saskatoon based radio marathon, but all the money goes to Breast Cancer research in Saskatchewan and I think it is very fitting for this kind of thing. I have not committed to anything yet, because I want to get a better grasp on what kind of committment it is first, so any info you could share is greatly appreciated and if you are interested in helping feel free to PM me. Thanks.
