Jamel Richardson out

tough break for the Als!

Yep, too bad... Good receiver. Next!

Sucks. Sadly name of the game

Too bad for the league. We need the stars on the field, not the sideline.

There wasa time not to long back that the Als would have a receiver in waiting to replace an older or injured on. ie Green, then London.Last5 year with all the injuries they had no one and again this season again no young up and comer so needed to sign Bruce.
This again puts Deslaures as the next man up to start. with Popp on the sideline and maybe his job on the line this could spell the end for DesLaures. First Richardsons spot is an import spot but last year with injuries they went after no new imports and used either of the two return specialists and Deslaures to star.
There has to be at least 100 import receivers available that are better than Deslaures and if given a shot quite a few Canadians as well.

Man. the Als have not even played yet...what makes you so sure they don't have someone waiting? They have both Carter and Moore on the PR...2 big frames

What are you talking about ? The next man up is Tyrone Carrier.

you missed the point while yes Carrier will most likely step in to start as a receiver but that is not what he was brought in for. He was brought in mainly for his return abilities and to be a hybred type back.
Im talking about guys like London and Richardson who are bonified 1,000 yard receivers who started on the practice roster as a rookie and were groomed into a starters role.

With Richardson out don’t be surprised to se some movement in the receiving corp. NFL free agent david clowney was brought in last year is on the 9 game IR depending on his injury status he may get a shot. formere Emd drft pick Pierre is entering his 3rd CFL season now and should not take much to beat out DesLaures and ezra Millington has landed on the Argos PR Popp had described him as a Gazelle and then he was released.

And your source for that is … ? The receiver depth is there. It’s not proven, but who has a proven receiver waiting behind a starter?

I think you're talking about London and Green. Richardson was a free-agent signing -- he had had some success with Saskatchewan previous to signing in Montreal, but was plagued by consistency issues.

Bottom line is: everyone starts out unproven. We could have the next London or Green on the roster right now. You never know until the next man gets a chance at bat.

Very tough break for Richardson.
However I think he will not be missed by the ALs. It will allow them to bring in a guy who's excited to play, probably has speed and will enliven things out there.
Regardless of the Hawkins fiasco, Richardson has been in a funk for two years now. Maybe still pissed at being passed over for MOP two years ago, drops way too many and has lost some speed. I get the feeling he's been going through the motions. So this is a great opp for a young , p.r. guy to prove himself.

Carrier scratched tonite, looks like Moore gets on the field to take Richardson's spot.
