Jabari Arthur

As has been mentioned in another thread, it was announced that Jabari Arthur needs surgery on his foot and will be out for the rest of the season. Hussler and Lawless on CJOB are reporting that the Bombers will get a compensatory draft pick from the Stamps if Arthur can't play this season.

Too bad .was hoping to see him play.

It`s a shame because he and DiMichele have a great chemistry, could have been special.

oh well...

something to look forward to then.

....I don't think the Bombers knew he was going to be unavailable in 09.....hence the gift of one of their up and coming qbs. DiMichelle...Burris was raving about him and ...just like that he's released and on our roster.. Also the Bombers will receive a draft pic...not sure in what round...Kelly says Arthur is signed to a multi-year deal...I'd rather see him playing at 100 percent next year than jeopardize his health now...I think we're playing for 2010 at any rate...

Could well be…Jabari’s busted leg could turn out to be a blessing…ya never know.

Papa, where did you hear/see that Arthur had signed a new contract?

If this is true, add to the list of reasons why Bomber management is in the wrong line of work

No, you should question whether the Stamps gave full disclosure to the Bombers on the extent of Arthur’s injury and if they did give full disclosure ask why the Stamps medical staff were unable to diagnose the problem in the weeks after Arthur came off the 9 game IR.

…Right at the bottom of one of the free press articles concerning the trade with cal…Kelly says all three players in the deal have been signed to multi-year deals…sorry can’t remember the date …So unless the media has it all screwed up again… these guys are locked… :expressionless:

…someone should/could get Bomber management to confirm…although i know they don’t like to impart any particulars on contracts…This would be generalizing in any event…

Found it. Thanks. It was in the FP on the 22nd.

Sunday's deal has landed the Bombers three players -- all of whom could be in the lineup against the Argos this weekend -- while helping boost the Stamps' depleted receiving corps in their run for a Grey Cup repeat.

Ryan (6-0, 190, Concordia College-Selma) has seven receptions for 111 yards and a TD this year and leads the CFL in kick-return yards with 984 yards, including a 104-yard score. Willis (6-2, 265, West Georgia) has six sacks this year as a rookie and fills the gap left by the injury to Fred Perry.

Arthur (6-4, 225, Akron) is clearly the key to the deal for the Bombers. A former first-round draft pick, he is still considered a blue-chip prospect despite a rash of injuries, including a broken foot that has kept him on the sidelines this season after a solid training camp. He is eligible to come off the nine-game injured list in time for this weekend’s game.

The Bombers moved Bryant after his struggles this year had limited his production severely (20 catches for 232 yards and zero TDs) while Franklin is in his option year and had balked at re-signing a new deal. Speculation is he would like to return to southern Ontario if he should hit free agency.

“It provides us with three guys who are young and under contract for an extended time,” said Kelly.
