c.p. - Ken Miller will follow Eric Tillman to Edmonton to coach the Esks next season. Miller will make the announcement he is leaving the Riders after their playoff run ends. Miller was quoted as saying "... I bring youth and vitality to the City of Champions and hope to follow in the direction of the Oilers who have set such a torrid pace this season!"  :rockin:
For the last time… Edmonton created the moniker “City of Champions” after the city was hit with the Tornado that killed a bunch of people and how the community rallied together in support.
yup. So what. Every team had the chance to structure their team they wanted… and only a few seemed to be competent enough to do that.
Even so, a team with 2 GC wins in the past 10 yrs, and 13 overall isn’t exactly something to ignore. Better than say,3 GC wins in over 70 yrs. Just sayin.
Lol, are you seriously saying it was a level playing field when the smaller markets suffered because of not being able to compete with the larger market teams? Salary cap has a huge amount to do with the parity we are seeing in the league since it’s implementation. To me, much of the Esks success in the past is a akin to the Yankees success.
Riders fought for salary cap forbears, and almost folded in the mean time. Then it comes out with no penalties for exceeding the cap. The true GC count may have to start as of the true salary cap. The league is much better off since the cap came into effect.
I guess PRJack,Regina is also the city of Champions since it was mostly destroyed and rebuilt in 1910. I like that .... Regina City of Champions!
With the money we are raking in I think we can afford some more. Miller/Taman, open those purse strings. Six GCs in a row to beat that team that can not be mentioned.
