I think Wally will be around longer than Warren.
Wally originally went out and signed Warren to play here. Wally had him in Calgary and thought his talents could be utilized here.
Printers left because of a good NFL offer. He was also injured during his last year here.
A coaches job is to keep upgrading players in each position. As hwgill posted, its now up to Joe Smith to prove that he has more talent, and not a one game wonder!

Printers for your info , was given a pretty good offer , in fact Wally was ready to make Printers his franchise player which would have meant that DD would have been shown the door. But the NFL came calling for Casey and sorry but they rank higher then our Lions in the eyes of many players(and pay better too in case you didn’t know). Printers is gone , get over it.
As for not liking Warren , Wally is the guy who brought him over from Calgary in the first place. The fact is our running game has $ucked worse than any other team’s til now, we needed to upgrade if that’s possible.
Having said that , I think we should still keep Warren , he’s terrific catching screens and passes out of the backfield . I hope we can have Warren and Smith in the backfield at the same time. Get rid of Chris Bush instead , or at least send him back to the PR. Teams would have a real tough time trying to defend Warren ( with his catching ability) and Smith . Which would really free up DD to use alot more options with out all the pressure.

I was hoping that Wally would have made a trade for some help in the receiving department. We certainy could use it.

I think Wally should have replaced Bush, moved Jackson outside, and put Warren in the slot position. At least until Claremont is back...and then take a second look at the RB situation.

Joe looks great, I was thinking that keeping Warren around would keep a fire lit under Smith's butt. 
Smith seems to possess a pretty decent set of hands himself. I don't think he needs Warren around to motivate him. Just give the guy the ball and let him do his thing.
Joe looks like the real deal.
