...heard on the radio this morning that while Dwight Anderson became a FA at 10pm last night his agent is still working with Hufnagel to stay here in Calgary, but Lysack is 99.9% gone most likely to Edmonton or B.C....sorry, no link, just a sports reporter's inside info...

Interesting. Edwards from the Spec thinks Anderson has signed with the Als, as does Herb Z. on alsinsideout.com. We'll see how this shakes out.

but signing Dwight Anderson? I guess they dont' care that he's Dirty and mouthy and not the best "team player"

...they probably care about him being one of the best shut down corners in the league would be my guess....that is what I would care about...

If there's a coach with enough weight to get him to shut up and play a team game right now its probably Trestman though. With the success he's had with the Als how can u not respect the guy and he doesn't come across as a guy who will tolerate player disruptions. If Anderson becomes a problem and Trestman wants him gone I don't see Popp not doing what his coach wants.

Yes and there's something else to consider in that connection. Montreal has a new D/C this year. He'll want to take charge, and I'll bet that the first time any of his defensive players steps out of line he'll come down hard on him to show that he's the boss. Might be different if Anderson signed in Hamilton where his secondary coach from Calgary is now the D/C there, or it might be different with a team with an established D/C, but I'm sure that Tibesar will want to make his mark early and establish his authority, so if Anderson pulls one of his stunts I'd expect to see Tibesar come down on him like a ton of bricks to show that he won't tolerate any challenge to his authority.

looks like the Stamps signed Tisdale away from the Ticats. One former ticat to replace anderson, another former ticat

Not a bad pickup for the Stamps. I don't think he's as good a corner as either Browner or Anderson, but I do also believe from what I've seen of him that he's a far better corner than he is a HB.

per Drew Edwards Scratching Post blog at the spec

The Ticats have agreed to terms with running back Avon Cobourne on a deal that will pay him a maximum of $135k - assuming he hits attainable bonus targets. He will get a signing bonus of $35,000.

The deal still needs signatures and league approval before being announced but that's a formality.

WOW…some big moves thus far! A little surprised with some of the quick, big moves! Stamps secondary will look a lot different this year! Are Cats FAs getting that better of offers elsewhere or is there some unrest!!!

also, nice to see Tillman realize there are teams to pillage from other than the Rides lol
