Indigenous-themed logos highlight CFL's support for Truth and Reconciliation

TORONTO — The Canadian Football League’s (CFL) nine member clubs and its officials will proudly wear Indigenous-designed logos to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation during its Week 17 slate of games. The Calgary Stampeders, who will be on a bye week, featured their commemorative logo in Week 15 when playing host to Montreal.

Great idea.
But much more needs to be done than thinking a helmet logo fixes what is wrong.

Its great to see that every team is now on board with this. The Riders logo I feel is very well done.

The descriptions on some of these logos are a bit weak, especially with the REDBLACKS “the stylized squiggly line in the bottom-right corner…serves as an homage to the Creator.” This isn’t straightforward to the casual audience of Indigenous art.
