In your face Paul Godfrey !

By hockey do you mean NHL?
Because although I'd love it, Halifax couldn't have it.

Yes, both hockey and NHL. Hockey in the US south is a niche X game type attraction. Never has nor will ever be considered major.

Halifax has the Moosheads in the CHL.

Argotom, like you I hope the NFL never comes to Toronto. I was thinking more about the hypocrites who berate the U.S. while at the same time embracing their sports more than our own.

I guess it wasn't in the article that 3rd&10 quoted, but somewhere I read that adding a Toronto franchise to the NFL would only "marginally" increase the league's revenues. A Toronto franchise would not increase TV revenues one bit, since no one in the States cares whether or not Toronto has a team. Surely with the increase in costs of adding a team, especially one with a different tax system, labour laws, etc., having a Toronto team in the league, especially one which will lose nearly all of its games in its early seasons, would cost the NFL money. They're not stupid: these guys are rich, and they know how to stay that way.

For international expansion, the league is much more interested in Mexico City, and even Tokyo, than puny little dull American-hating Toronto. (Before everyone jumps down my throat, that's how I think they see it, not me!)

C-way I agree, we certainly have more hypocrites per capita then the entire country. Yes, it is also ironic and this is where I agree with BigDave. On the one hand the left leaning mostly socialist city of Toronto and the vast majority of people hate the Americans, their current politics and mostly everything they stand for. Yet, as Canadians they are willing to sell their souls and everything this country stands for, for the purpose of joining in certain American entertainment projects, be it “Hollywood North” and NFL mentality (also MLB, NBA, NHL etc). Because of their self percieved we are a “world Class City” unadulterated crap.

you guys are funny. I personally would love to see the NFL here... I mean why not? What would be more sweet than bringing a superbowl up north? Sports and politics don't mix. You guys are really puting on an act to the rest of the world and showing them all that we are acting like their little siblings.

I hope Paul Godfrey makes enough money on those bus trips from Toronto to Buffalo to watch the Bills??
Toronto will never get a NFL team.
I repaet, you will never get a NFL team & if you think you will, you will never make that money back.
GO ARGOS GO.
