there is a updated hamburger menu that i will be enabling this weekend sometime. it actually isnāt that new, itās been out since last fall - i just havenāt turned it on yet. the legacy one we are using is being phased out by the vendor this year and i do not want to be having any such changes rolled out while the CFL season is ongoing. thus now is the time. it is a much more user intuitive menu that allows users to add their own shortcuts as well as default ones. i will try to configure it to be as much like the old one as possible (it has lots of configuration and customization options from an admin perspective). i can also set it up as a drop down menu on the right side like the existing one, or a sliding side bar style on the left side that can be kept collapsed or expanded (a āsideburgerā lol). the menu icon itself wonāt change, just the menu and itās contents. anyways, i will use this thread to update and help users once i enable the feature. it works in both desktop and mobile.
i know the terminology is odd, but itās not mine. that is the standard sofware name for that style of menu icon (the horizontal lines, usually 3). itās very common in internet apps and sites.
ok so for example, notice how in the existing hamburger drop down menu under categories it shows them all (or most). in the new menu, users are able to specify exactly which category links they have there. iām sure most of you donāt use all of those (hello Ti-cat and Als forum fans lol). so if you mute certain categories on the home page, you can also choose to not have those category links in the menu as well.
I admit that I would steal hamburgers sitting around unattended if I could get away from it, but it would never be from those waiting to eat or from those hungry. There are no food police you know.
i would have already if i could find some decent ones. i may try to make some. the existing CFL ones are not friendly to our interface. this is actually on my to-do listā¦
