if Riders name Taman as GM, we're toast.

....to be fair here.....everything that Brenda did in the Peg was not ALL bad....His failings were to recruit certain positions....the main one mostly ...qbs. and he had his issues with kickers in the last while in the Peg.... He said he was burnt-out when he left...maybe that was the problem..A lot of fans contend he had a 'small budget' to operate with.. I agree....however...over a decade stretch he didn't bring the 'big-one' home...Will he be more successful in Regina????......We'll have to re-visit this hiring by the riders like you suggested...ONE TIP though.....don't let him while away the teams free agency till the final minutes...bad habit of his....and for goodness sake....keep him away from dealing with your draft pics... :lol:otherwise?????????????

Did Khari Jones not win/ be runner up for the MOP? Kevin Glenn was an excellent quarterback, with good decision making abilities. Let's face it, if he doesnt get hurt in 2007 the Bombers probably would have won that game. The quarterback was not the problem.

That statement has no credibility. There is no way of knowing how Glenn would have performed. There is no way of knowing how Glenn's presence could have affected Joseph's play either. Joseph might have stepped it up bigtime and Glenn might have thrown 2 ints on his first 4 pass attempts.

There is no way of knowing and therefore that statement has no merit.

I think the point was, Brendan did in fact find two pretty fair QBs in his 10 years in the Peg. Glenn and Khari.
For Papa: Brendan was burned out is code for"can’t work with Bauer’s meddling anymore and can’t accept the decision to hire Mike Kelly.
Good call Brendan…

Huh?
Tillman traded away lots of draft picks and many with practically zero results.

The evidence? In the last two years, including this upcoming draft, the 'Riders only have 5 out a possible 12 draft picks, and 1 of those 5 is a result of trading back to the Eskimos Joe McGrath after he had a change of heart about being a 'Rider. If McGrath stayed then it would have been 4 out of 12.

When ET was here, he traded to Montreal a 1st round and a 4th pick and a perenial CIS allstar offensive lineman and Regina boy Ryan Karhut for Henri Childs and Brian Jones and a 3rd round pick. Childs was a huge disappointment and Jones never played a down and Tillman would go on to trade away that 3rd round pick to BC. ET came onto this very website and said the key to that whole trade would be the development of J.F. Morin-Roberge from a pick he got from B.C. Yeah okay.

Taman traded away draft picks to get Kevin Glenn and Doug Brown. He had the opportunity to get at that time 2 very talented players and he jumped on it. Kevin Glenn QB’d the Bombers to a winning season and is still a good QB and had great numbers last year for the Ti-Cats. Although Doug Brown is getting a little long in the tooth, he still had 50 tackles and 6 sacks last year… impressive stats actually.

Think back to last year, we lost two of our starting three LB’s, so Taman isn’t the ONLY one who leaves FA’s til the last minute.
We must also remember that the reason we lost Lloyd and McKenzie was the loss of Coach Hall to the Evil Empire. Guaranteed that the FA’s who do re-sign in Winnipeg will be based on who is your new HC. If the HC is Greg Marshall, I suspect many of the Bomber FA’s will re-sign

.....concerning draft pics.....if you want to research the records of the Bombers, we have had a dismal record of keeping them...last in that regard over a decade....I do agree if you can get a fantastic player for a high draft choice....go for it....Look at how successful we've been and how many Cups we have as the result?????
