I don’t see where Ti-Cat finishes from the last century have any bearing whatsoever on what may or may not happen in 2013. Different coaches, different players, different management, different competition with different player injury status and yes, even different officiating and rules.
Right now, they have a fair shot at first, but If one of the other teams finds a way to even up the odds by putting Burris on the sidelines with a clean hit, all bets are off. In that case, IMO the Ti-Cats do not have a strong enough defense nor special teams to take up the slack of a weakened offense with LeFevour in charge. The odds of a first place finish increase or decrease with each game depending on the changing circumstances.
It's obviously up to Hamilton if they want First Place bad enough or if they are happy at finishing the season in second or third, it depends on how high they set their standards to Win and want to Win that will determine where this team finishes? Both Montreal and Toronto are in tough with back up QB's but in many ways they could want top spot more than Hamilton does and their play will show in the coming weeks? I always feel in the CFL that once we get past Labor Day the race begins for positioning in the divisions and playoff spots right now in the East it's still a toss up between Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal and dragging behind in the basement Winnipeg? Hopefully the Cats will play to win more games and beat the better teams in this league and prove that they should be number one in the East!!
It doesn't matter if we get 1st, we still have to beat them in the playoffs and being at home doesn't matter. Especially playing in front of a sold out crowd of 13 000, think they will be able to squeeeeeze 13 101 in there, What a joke
