I believe we have a better DC this season and a defense that is building. Last year there was Casey Creehan. I think the result could be better this time around.
Best not to write off the team down the road just yet. Wiser to plan for an equally dangerous opponent, no matter the circumstances.
Seems to me we played them in the playoffs last year where they used mostly backups and 2nd stringers, and we still lost. Granted, this year is a lot different but let's not get ahead of ourselves and take it one step at a time.
This. Hall of Fame QBs do not grow on trees, don’t we know!
I think Collaros has shown a few sparks of future greatness thus far, but it is way too early to hitch a wagon to that horse and expect Secretariat II.
how easily we forget the utter catastrophe that was the 2012 TiCats Defense.
nearly every offensive player in the league earned POTW status vs the Cats last season.
With Ray at the helm, the Argos offense is a well oiled machine, and was poised for another great output until the injury early in the game.
(5 of 6, 1 TD on his first series)
Collaros meanwhile, managed few sustained drives throughout the game, while scoring a mere 7 points in over 3 quarters of play.
no question the still green Collaros has a bright future ahead, although unrealistic to believe the Argos will not miss a beat without Remarkable Ray.
There is no denying his absence will hurt the team dramatically, especially over an indefinite period.

Ray will be missed, no doubt.
However, it’s not likely that they planned for Zach Collaros to see much, if any, action last night, so he probably only had a handful of plays to use.
They will know very soon if Ray will be in the lineup this week and, if not, will plan more effectively for Collaros to have the game.
Perhaps, this next encounter will be more telling as to how they will survive without their starter.
If only that were true…it wasn’t a play-off game, but the last game of the season that your thinking about. We had to defeat the A’s to make the play-offs,they were already in,hence the use of 2nd stringers…BUT!!! That was last year!!!The majority of that defence that played that day are long gone,as well as the head coach,OC and DC. Tis a new year,a new regime,a new attitude…last year was last year, one I choose to forget as a fan of this team.We still got the A’s twice more this season plus the Al’s 3 times and 1 more meeting with the B.B.'s. To round it out we have 2 vs the Nags and 2 vs the Leos. There is no reason we can’t win at least 7 or 8 of our final 10 games, and end up anywhere from 10-8 to 12-6 on the season. We accomplish this and regardless of if Ray plays or not, first in the East will be ours. :rockin:
1st Place???, I want the Grey Cup!!!
Just think of it.
The parade will be the biggest and longest in pro sports history.
Start in Guelph, down Highway #6, cut thru Dundas,
Go through Mac-Westdale just to disrupt things ( just for you Earl, )
Then through the City, whipping the adoring fans into a frenzy,
Ending at the 90% finished Tim Horton’s Field. :rockin:
This team has improved through the season both on Defense and the ground game on Offense.
Keep on improving every game. Make it happen.
I was struck by how one of Captain's pics reminded me of an infamous pic from the first issue of the Toronto Sun... especially since Ray was wearing the retro uniform.
I think we all need to be realistic about the Cats. Who have they beaten this year? Their 4 victories were against 2 teams who, before the late game today, have a combined record of 2 - 9. If they beat BC, then I will be getting excited about their chances.
Who have we beaten.
We don’t control the schedule.
I hear this from the talking heads on TSN also.
You beat the teams you play,
So we start 1 and 4 and lose because we are decimated by injuries,
Is that an excuse for losing, NO!!!
You are not allowed to make excuses for losing.
So also you are not allowed to make excuses for why you won,
Like it is less of a victory, a win is a win.
How about if Gable catches that pass in game 1 against the Arblows,
Then we are now 5 and 3 and the Arblows are 4 and 4.
But he dropped it and it is over, no excuses.
Just win Baby!!
