We debate the virtues and vices of Mr. Maas to no end.
However, if we want to compete in the league then we need to be better than some other teams.
So -- what do you think? Would any team in the league trade their starting QB (or some of their backups) for Maas?
I think not.
at $300,000 plus? Not a chance
At any price---player for player---
I don't think they would.
That ranks him 8th in an 8 team league....that isn't good enough.
The Cat's might be able to get Buck Pierce, LOL
I agree but even with the rose coloured glasses that some are wearing on here they have to admit Maas is untradeable
Well somebody on this board did recommend Burris for Maas...lol....i doubt that would happen but would that leave us any better off?
Its hard to say. Confidence is a repairable commodity in Burris' case vs Maas' non-repairable arm and repairable confidence. The thing they have in common is that a possessive indicator on the spelling of their name is a pain. I say we get someone who's name does not wnd in an s
Maybe Burris would be a possibility but he wouldn't be an improvement over Maas. I can't see any other CFL team trading their 1st string QB for Maas even if his salary wasn't so high. On the other hand, if the Jason Maas of the Esks ever re-emerged, I think there'd be a lot of interest in him. That's what's so puzzling about Maas. He's been a solid QB but isn't anymore. What happened to him?

He got hurt and cannot throw deep any longer

yes, but in Edmonton he still couldn`t hold down the number 1
He came on this website read a few forums ............
I think its pretty obvious what will happen. If Timmy Chang progresses as I think he will and become the starter by the last part of the season. Desjardins will release Maas in the off season and sign Chang to a long term contact. Nobody will trade for a 300,000 dollar QB with a bum arm.
Why wait to the offseason, when it must be done now. What can Timmy Chang learn from Jason Maas ,answer how to lose !!!!!!!!!
I know that's what everyone says, but as far as I know, no one from the team has ever said that. Maas himslef said he's successfully rehabbed after his offseason operation (which was pretty vague too). And occasionally he does throw deep so the arm strength seems to be there. If he physically can't throw long, the coaches are wrong to play him.

Matched with his heart never leaving Alberta.
The arm injury also crippled his self-confidence.
Nobody has to say it Maas proves it every game
