I want this David Ball In

I SEEN HIS STATS AND WITH RODRIGUEZ OUT I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEEN HIM GET SOME PLAYING TIME IN. HIS STATS FROM SCHOOL LOOK AMAZING AND I HAVE THIS HUNCH THAT HES GOING TO BE A GREAT RECEIVER

IN 4 SEASONS HE RACKED UP 304 RECEPTIONS, 4,655 YDS AND 58 TD'S. HE SET A NCAA RECORD FOR TOUCHDOWNS, PREVIOUSLY HELD BY NFL LEGEND JERRY RICE.

THIS KID RACKS IN 1,163 YDS PER SEASON ..AND ON AVERAGE ABOUT 14 TDS....SOUNDS LIKE THE NEXT ARLAND BRUCE THAT WE COULD USE ON THIS TEAM AND WE WOULD BE STUPID TO GET RID OF HIM SO I HOPE HE STAYS AND LEARNS THE PLAYBOOK.

stop yelling please

horrible net manners!

If Obie and MB thought he was ready, he'd be in there. My guess is that it's too late to start teaching him the game on the fly so he may start next year.

For starters, David Ball was placed on the 9-game injury list on Sept.10 which leaves him out for the balance of the regular season. Obie has also said that while Ball has great hands he lacks in the speed department compared to other receivers we have on the roster.

If he was any good we would have seen him by now, there is a reason mtl let him go. The guy was so hyped in pre season you would have thought he was a legend.

I would like them to get the new returner into the game . Mcdaniel is a good reciever but i think we need more quickness in our return game and field position will be so important the rest of the season .

Good returns need good blocking. Since we have terrible blocking on ST, it's no wonder that our returners are getting creamed...

That being said Mcdaniel sp ? doesnt have the quickness that say the returner in Winnepeg has . I watched him last time they were in Hamilton and this guy catches the ball and uses quickness to gain valuable yardage and thats something our returners dont have !!!

in one a the videos on the site obie said the guy might get a chance as a returner this weak in toronto. If we put him in the lineup im not sure who to take out though?

Thats the problem , i dont want to take any .of our receivers out

I'd gladly sit Drisan James to give a new body a shot at K/P return.

Seems only time we get good field position off K/Ps is if its given to us on penalties or the opponent is kicking from their 10 yard line.

Constantly starting drives inside the 35 yard line is hurting the offense (yes, virginia, there are other reasons than just whos playing QB)

If they think he is really good and can play receiver I could possibly see them sitting james but he would be the only reciver I can see them sitting right now. and do we know if rodriguez will be back?

Acoording to Drew Edwards, Prechae was back at practice today.

A comment on type case??? …sheeeessshhhhh
'Whats become of this site ? My steelworker dad would roll over in his grave…

If I remember correctly the type writer in the open hearth only had UPPER CASE LETTERING…

note to Ticat management…

make sure the names on the players jerseys are in lower case, we wouldn’t want to offend the other side.

zenstate is referring to proper netiquette.

sorrryyyy but Im afraid you'll have to get with the programme.

this is a football team we re talking about in this blogs
not a flippin Miss Manners social.

In the real world out there, the size of a font on email doesnt cut it as a complaint :thdn:

its like the kid who squeals "My pinkee hurts!" when he gets his finger jammed in a helmet.

By the way, thanks for the annotations to legitimize the absurd... no insult to you intended

Its not your fault really..... its a me=generation thing... :cowboy:

Obviously you did not read or understand the links as those are glimpses of the real world. The real real world is not what you[/i[ claim it to be. Hence, the references to various sources other than my opinion.

By the way, thanks for the annotations to legitimize the absurd... no insult to you intended
Providing links, sources, and supporting info does legitimize. Since you do not, then how can you claim a supported argumewnt is absurd without any legitmacy of your own.

I contend your refusal to acknowledge basic netiquette to be either ignorant or arrogant.

Now this is getting silly.. Captain... proving links and sources does not necessarily legitimize... occasionally it only annotates. Much akin to some undergraduate papers in any number of institutions of "learning"

I think you would agree that the courts, and not the anonymous and sometimes uneven world of cyberspace is a truer barometer of the real world ...
to wit...

"An accountant in NZ has been awarded $17,000 NZD for unfair dismissal after her boss fired her for using uppercase letters in a single email to co-workers. The email, which advises her team how to fill out staff claim forms, specifies a time and date highlighted in bold red, and a sentence WRITTEN IN CAPITALS and highlighted in bold blue. It reads: 'To ensure your staff claim is processed and paid, please do follow the below checklist.' Her boss deemed the capital letters too confrontational for her co-workers to read after they woke up from naptime." (30 Aug 2009)

oh.... and since we appear to be playing the game ---

What do you do at Ivor Wynn when you hear smash mouth talk????? Tell the little boys to go stand in their corners or to skip recess and write "I will not talk dirty 1000 times on the blackboard?

now lets get back to what this board is meant for ---- discussion of football and not font size... :cowboy:

PS When you stick to football your posts are generally very astute and quite entertaining...

What you did is annotate an "extreme" event, showing how silly this can get, much like your criticim of zenstate, IMO.

I think you would agree that the courts, and not the anonymous and sometimes uneven world of cyberspace is a truer barometer of the real world ... to wit...
Now that is silly and making a big deal out of nothing.Fact is, netiquette exists, you may choose to dismiss it, no problem. Most places I go on the net adhere to it. Almost all, in fact.

I agree this ain't a big deal at all. All zenstate did was point out common netiqette to someone who most likley was not aware of the common practice. That's it. And IMO it was no big deal either, at least until you decided to criticise him for it.

I'd be happy to continue this discussion elsewehre (PM, perhaps) so as not to hijack this thread. (There's that damn netiquette coming out again  )

Back to David Ball. Yes, he looked quite good at training camp and practices early on. A definite nose for the ball and a noticable ability to come away with a reception. I really hope we get a chance to see him play sometime.

re all upper case issue.

Etiquette actually comes secondary to readability.

(From my graphics training) When we read, unconsciously, we don't just read the individual letters but also shapes of words. ALL UPPER CASE IS MORE DIFFICULT TO READ IN LARGE BLOCKS OF TEXT.

Surprisingly, legal text on documents is often in all upper case to emphasize the content but instead, especially at the usually smaller font sizes used, it's more difficult to decipher (hmmm... perhaps on purpose???).

Bottom line... for large blocks of text, use bold or a colour for emphasis instead of all caps. It just makes it easier to read vs all upper case.

And yes, I'd also like to see Ball given a chance. Not a true indicator of actual game play, but he looked quite impressive during training camp IMO. He seemed to catch anything that touched his fingers, no matter how difficult the grab.
