no one wishes this on a person but my how the mighty have fallen. coach had to send a message- it is a team game. Good on Wally. Bad on Wally for taking the chance on him in the first place. Might just shake up the team and head them into the playoffs though.
Best wishes Casey.
Can't see Barker & the Argos picking him up. After all, he was available at the beginning of the season, & Barker chose Lemon & Bell instead. Why would he want to pick up the guy who orchestrated probably the biggest BC Lions collapse in their history? Everyone's seen just how good Printers has been this year...as a Ticat fan, I'd love to see the Argos sign him, but it aint gonna happen, IMO.
I agree with you cartman. Barker's been on record as saying he isn't interested in picking up other teams' castoffs and prefers to develop his own QBs. That's why he didn't go after Buck Pierce. If he wouldn't go after Buck Pierce in the offseason, I highly doubt he'd go after Printers at this stage of the season.
personally, I’d say Printers was worse. he was basically blaming Wilson for his awful throw that cost his team the game… Sanchez/Mitchell went crazy in the heat of the moment, but I don’t think they started blaming their teammates for their own mistakes that contributed to the loss. what Printers did happened outside of the game but it was literally blaming a teammate for his mistake during the game that led to the loss.
I’ve always liked Printers, and I was hoping he would do well with his second chance, but I suspect this is it for him, and deservedly so at this point.
Printers was right, but also wrong. Right because Wilson ran the wrong route, wrong because he had a man open elsewhere on the field yet still chose to try a low-percentage, dangerous pass across the length of the field.
So sad to see Printers degenerate to this level. He still has physical talent, and shows flashes of his old brilliance, but his decision-making has become abysmal over the past few years and he can't give Wally even basic ball security. Guy fumbles with no one touching him. That's unacceptable for a pro quarterback.
I’ll say. It is truly sad to see when you compare it to that magical 2004 season. . . those who didn’t see his MOP performance that season have really missed something very special.
You said it, my friend. That was truly a special year marred by Buono’s idiotic decision to start an ice-cold Dave Dickenson in the Grey Cup game and sit the league MOP Printers.
Ah yes. . . and then he went and compounded that error by not putting Printers in for the second half, when they were behind but still within striking distance.
Ranks right down there with Don Matthews deciding to bench both his cornerbacks and starting two rookie CBs in a Grey Cup game. . .both of whom were then eaten alive by Ricky Ray.
Odd isn't it, that these 2 major Grey Cup coaching mistakes were committed by the two winningest coaches in CFL history. . .
Although we all suspected Printers was finished one has to think he was left as the scapegoat in the Winnipeg game. His stats are awful this year and he is being overpaid so his release was imminent though in my opinion.
His stats weren't horrible, they just weren't that great. Average. Other than his attitude and butterfingers, he wasn't that bad. But it all comes back to his attitude again. If you guys heard Angus Reid's interview today about him, it really seems like he was never popular from day 1 there.
Now if that is the case, this team could change quite a bit with him gone. Oooooor, they'll just choke again and have no scape goat.
Being overpaid at this point of the season was irrelevant. He was a veteran and it’s past Labour Day so his contract for the rest of the season is guaranteed and will count against the cap.
