Quoted for truth, and not just because you quoted me
While Tillman has the respect of a lot of players because he makes good teams, he is also known to be a very shrewd gm who will, say cut you at 11:59 so you don’t get the bonus you were going to get at 12:00. Every boss has their pros and cons, and while Tillman was a good GM, i am glad he is no longer ours.
Let us let Taman make this team his, and then we will find out what he is worth. Remember Taman did get the Bombers to the Cup, and without a severe injury to Glenn may just have won that game (I know blasphemy right, but they would have a heck of a better chance).
All that being said if Daley is on this team next year I will be upset, especially as a co-ordinator.
And yet the facts say we’ve made more personnel changes this year than we ever did under Tillman’s reign. Guess we never had any “crappy players” back then to speak of? Did I miss when we went 18-0 those years?
And we have a good team this year, proven by the fact that we have beaten every team in the league.
I do agree with you that we should have been grooming some young replacements on the oline and don’t understand why Tillman had such poor success in that area…thoughts?

Edmonton has only 3. I guess Tillman better get to work.
All you just did is state common sense. What does that have to do with what we are talking about. You say we are not grooming O-linemen and I just showed that we have 5 young guys in our system.
Not saying they are all future starters, but it’s not horrible, and like I showed it’s better than your beloved Tillman has done for edmonton so far.
Do you ever admit when you are wrong?
Tillman was a good GM, but remember this team was probably only a good head coach away from making it to the Grey Cup before he came here. The success in 2007 had alot to do with Kent Austin, and not as much to do with Tillman. Granted Tillman did find some key talent, but the team was pretty well assembled before he got here.
I do agree somewhat with Taman. He has not found key replacements on defense.
Well, Barrin Simpson has done a fabulous job but we are lacking on lineman. Hawkins is about 80% of a Chick. (the player, not a girl .hahaha) We are so focused on all these wacky plays that teams are getting it and they're running on us.
Of course it doesn’t mean our problems are gone, but really how is it Taman’s fault for this. If it takes a long time to develop Olinemen and Taman has only been the GM for less than a year, then wouldn’t this fall in the inherited problem column. I forget who did he inherit this from?
You are a fear mongerer cflisthebest. If you got over that, maybe you could make more valid points.
No kidding. I admit I am not overly fond of what I am seeing from certain aspects of the club right now, but cflisthebest...you must live a very stressed out life. You look at the worst case scenario for everything. I mean...yeah...you are going to hit one of those every now and then, but not 50 times a year. The salary cap has changed the game, and the Riders have looked great since its introduction. Conversely, the Esks have hurt the most, as they have a huge stadium, and have always simply outbid and scooped up FAs...Tillman should help curve that.
Taman hasn’t done much to date? Other teams are air lifting in players for the play-offs, not us! Why didn’t we FOR ONCE out spend another team for a quality player, I.e. Baggs. Wait we were still paying Dorsey so maybe could not afford him. Bob O in Hamilton goes out and gets guys, quality guys like Arlan Bruce, Stella, etc.
Taman hasn’t done much. Barrin maybe his best move.
First, maybe we don’t have the cap room that Hamilton had.
Second, you can’t honestly say that picking up Dorsey was a bad move at the time. There was a bidding war for him. We just had the bad fortune of it not panning out. Hindsight is 20-20 but, at the time, several teams were willing to take the risk that goes with any FA signing on Dorsey. In any event, if you asked him, he would probably say it’s the coaching or the blocking or … and he may be partly right. Not all on him that it didn’t pan out.
Maybe Taman doesn’t appear to have done much, but you can’t hang him for what is not in his control.
