Honestly, how much longer can we keep this guy as head coach? What was he thinking keeping Chang in there that long? How could he not know what Williams was capable of doing. Leaving Chang in there as long as he did clearly cost us the game, and it could have been a different story had Williams come in earlier. Coaching seems to be a growing problem on this team, highlighted by the arguement between Moreno and the D coordinator on the sidelines.
Don't you remamber the comment by Bob at the press conference introducing Taaffe?
Taaffe asked if we don't win will you still like me? Bob answered, yes. I'll miss you as well.
Hopefully Printers will be allowed to call his own plays.
its not taffe's fault its the assistan coaches, u seen moreno scrapin it out with the D-cordinator
That second down call right before French’s second TD was atrocious.
GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!!!!!
Its not the coaches fault Timmy threw 4 INTs and he is just trying to give Timmy Chang some time to prove him self but Richie Williams is probably our best bet for 2nd string QB. Chang just isn't getting it done and it is definately not Taaffe's fault at all.
i hope your joking? printers JUST got the play book
4 INTs is more than enough time to try to prove yourself. Also, Taaffe's first job as head coach isn't to help Timmy Chang prove himself, it's to win football games. He should try doing it once in a while.
We have been watching Maas lose all that time with Ricky on the bench, sinful.
Taaffe will be evaluated at the end of the season, I expect. If there have to be staff changes, there will be. I don't think Charlie is in trouble.
The next eight games with Printers in the saddle (barring injury) will tell more of a story.
The Moreno-O'Neil exchange there was worrisome.
Oski Wee Wee,
I really think that the Tiger-Cat brass need to evaluate what happened today. The mic'ed up session on CBC to me says it all about the overall quality of coaching the team has had. There is no excuse for what happened. The coordinators have be prepared. O'Neill is not and needs to be held accountable for that.
taaffe hired the assistants, so it is his fault.
Taaffe will be around, some of his assistants won't.
why the hell did taaffe hire a 'buddy' from down south who knows NOTHING of the CFL game to coach the Defence?
was it a total lack of respect for the canadian game, thinking an american coach with no CFL knowledge can come here and have an easy go of things here?
He has until game four next year to get this thing back on the rails. That seems to be a signpost for this franchise lately…
I would want to see a proven CFL-ready coordinator on staff who could succeed Charlie if that has to happen. What has to be clear now is that EVERYTHING ON THE FOOTBALL SIDE is being eyeballed. If coordinators are pulling Helen Kellers on the sideline, then Charlie had better awaken the dead or merely mute. What I saw today was ridiculous.
The test now is to at least split the next 8 games. Yes, I mean 5-13. I expect more, but I do not expect instant miracles with Casey in this situation. Nevertheless, we cannot have the breakdowns in simple coaching functions dwarf the breakdowns on the field.
I was prepared for a rebuilding year. I see a lot of effort from these guys. The penalty situation improved quite a bit today. That stated, Taaffe and Casey’s relationship will be first and foremost in my sights as to where the team goes from here. It is too early to trapdoor any coach as yet. Another week of O’Neil looking lost and I reserve the right to stratch that.
Oski Wee Wee,
Hmmm. Moreno or O'Neil? Not a difficult choice for me...
LMAO Me either. Moreno was too nice. Zambiasi would have eaten O’Neil alive.
Too bad Mic’d Up is a 2000s thing.
What's Big Ben doing these days?
It's never been the same since he left...
we referred to big ben while watching the game - iirc the 1986 grey cup defensive plan was pretty much done by ben … and edmonton never knew what hit them…
Hell I hope we dont have another rebuilding year for a long long time. Taaffe has to stay.
