How do I do This In The New Site?

New Site Sucks thread has been closed and I don't disagree it went off the rails. This is, I hope, an acceptable alternative.

One of my main complaints is things are difficult to find in some cases and well hidden. I'm opening this thread to ask where things are if they are available in the new site. Doing it through this thread will allow other members to add their input. No point is continuing to flog a dead horse but we still need to learn how to use this place and there is no other way to do that.

First question; is there a friends/foes list as we had in the previous site?

Second, how do I clear the clutter from the drop down menu by my screen name? It is a nice feature to have, but once I have looked at the posts how do I clear the list?

This doesn't just have to be for questions, if you have found something you think most might not know about in the site post it here.

I'm not sure those lists exist per se, but if you're looking for a way to mute or ignore a user, it's located on their profile page and can be found at:

  1. Click their name / avatar image, then a second time in the popup window that appears.
  2. Click the button that reads Normal and change it to Muted or Ignored.

See below for example (on a desktop/laptop):

Thanks for the quick reply Sully. I'm not seeing the ignore option, only normal and muted.

I think Sully must have me on ignore

Is there a way to easily post an image, rather than having to add in the <img tag manually?

(And in the meantime, we can use
< img src="image-location" width="600" height="400">
without the space between '<' and 'img'.)

Can we create a poll? and if so,
How do we create a poll?

How do I get rid of these stupid badges? If we must have these dumb things I should at least get a lollipop too.

Congrats Sully, this place is the most condescending, adolescent place I have logged in to. Between the badges and posting levels and now the "trust level promotion" I feel like I'm back in kindergarten getting ribbons for every thing I do.

This site was designed for children not adults. Enjoy it because I'm done.

How does one hide their public profile?

Unfortunately,
I get the feeling that it doesn't appear like we are going to get any help with our questions. :rage:

There is no example of a forum using Discourse which doesn't suck.

It looks like that FYB broke it again

Would be interesting to see the post count before and after the change for sure. I'm going with the way down.
