I know I must be missing something, but why isn’t Holmes playing? I don’t think I saw him on the field for the Edmonton Game.
Thanks, I assumed as much but he's not shown as hurt on the roster.
If the player is only going to miss a game or two due to injury, he usually becomes one of the four reserves on the 46 man roster. The players on the injured list are either on the four game injured list or the nine game injured list depending on the severity of the injury.
IMO Holmes is not playing in order to protect his trade value. The reason that he was resigned was to make him a more valuable trading piece as he is going to be around for a bit when a club picks him up. I hope that I'm wrong, but it's just a feeling I have about the Holmes situation.
And that's supposed to mean???
It means (if I may, JFL): "Why the H-E-double-hockey-sticks do you think we signed him for a 3-4-year contract, if we are just going to trade him?"
GM Marcel Desjardins stated repetedly that signing Holmes to a long-term contract was his primary goal.
