holmes won't play, out 4 weeks

interesting article from the edmonton sun ... did the spec have this at all?
says holmes is eager to resign here for next year, and that other teams have been trying to get him in trade, and that his injury is actually a good thing.

The same article said Lumsden probably will not play. Who will the rb be?

One would think that this is Anthony Davis' week to show what he's got. Much heralded by Marshall early in the season, but hasn't got a real opportunity yet.

I'm glad that the Edmonton Sun article hinted that Holmes might be ok with re-signing in Hamilton. Like most fans, I am VERY SOURED on the Ticats' performance this year, but if Holmes plays for Hamilton in 2007, I will attend some games just to watch HIM play. He's that good. Open the vault, Desjardins.

As a recent Big Ten graduate, I was able to witness a few games during Davis' career at Wisc. I myself am very anxious to see what he brings to the table. He had a very successful career and was one of the most feared runners in the Big Ten.

Don't let me down AD

What happened to Holmes???

Why didn't we hear about this until now and from the Edmonton Sun for that matter???

Apparently Davis and Lumsden have been added to the roster and Holmes has been placed on the injury reserve list.

The Sun scoops the Spec.

Ken Peters is too worried about how many times he can use, "Bengals", "Balsam Av", "Hamilton Hottie" in his articles to worry about important things...like facts about the team.

I am surprised we didn’t hear about it from McMahon first - let alone the Speculator.

Too bad about Holmes injury though…

Come to think about it - where is Mcmahon? I miss his posts.

8) Every newspaper scoops the Spec !!!
Ironic how this injury to Holmes has not been made public in Hamilton yet, but Edmonton already knows about it !!! Maybe the Cats were trying to keep it a secret from Edmonton !!!! <!-- s:oops: --><!-- s:oops: --> <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

Is hew injured, or “injured”?

Could be it’s try-out time for Anthony Davis and Jesse…

McMahon has been asked to take a "vacation".

8) A permanent vacation ????? Heck, I miss him already !!!!!!

The depth chart for the Edmonton game lists Anthony Davis #5 as the starting RB, and Jesse Lumsden #28 as the back up.

Should be very interesting to watch what both of them can do.

It's funny because it's true

What happened to Holmes?

Ticatguy provided a link to an Edmonton Sun article stating that Corey Holmes has an MCL sprain. On the other hand, an article in today's edition of The Hamilton Spectator reports that "The Cats plan to start Corey Holmes tomorrow."

Seeing that the depth chart on the ticats.ca website shows Anthony Davis as the starting running back, the Edmonton Sun article trumps the article in The Hamilton Spectator.

I'll tell you what I think is "trumped".....

the "Corey Holmes Injury"...I don't think it is any secret that he doesn't want to be here and Sept 19th is fast approaching!

just a hunch

I could see him being traded to a cup contender and then re-signing with the Riders as a free-agent.

IMHO

it would look kinda fishy for a team to trade for someone who's going to be "out 4 weeks" at this point in the season.

I hope interim Head Coach Ron Lancaster doesn't find out
that Corey Holmes' injury may have been "trumped up", woody,

Hamilton head coach Ron Lancaster said

"We haven't had that many big plays this year from guys,
and he has shown in the last couple of weeks that
he is capable of making big plays, and then we lose him,"

Poor Ron sounds genuinely upset that Corey won't be playing.

Ron is trying to win games now [or even get that first touchdown.]

Woody appears to be correct that Holmes may be dealt.........

click here for an article in today's (Saturday) "Leader-Post" with quotes from GM Desjardins.

"Teams are interested," Hamilton general manager Marcel Desjardins said Friday. "At this stage, the fact that he's hurt doesn't help the situation. But it's also nothing long-term -- he will definitely give somebody a boost for the rest of this year and the postseason."
