Ok, from a Grey Cup history book I have at home. Sound somewhat familiar to what has happened this year in Toronto.
Concerning the 1947 season:
"The Tigers had signed quarterback Frank Filchock who had been suspended for one year by the National Football League for not reporting a bribe attempt. The other teams didn't feel Filchock should be eligible to play for Hamilton, but they accepted him because (a) he turned out to be a fine drawing card and (b) even with him Hamilton wasn't a playoff threat."
Their offensive line is very bad and I think the only way they can play decent is if Allen is in the lineup, it gives their O-line an incentive to not get the old man injured, without this, dead last in the east I think, even with a good defence and special teams. Williams isn’t a superman, he still needs holes to be effective.
