Hey Mikey, these were great. If I was Ricky. I probably would've hauled off on that reporter asking those idiotic cliched questions. He's got lots of patience--must be his yoga training.
Is it just me or did anyone else feel a bitter tone in the SI article.
Heaven forbid a star NFL running back enjoy playing football elsewhere.
The writer says that the Dophins don't need Ricky Williams. The way I see it is, Ricky Williams does not need the NFL and the writer doesn't like that.
They don't want to even hint at the possibility that the CFL talent pool might be competitive with the almighty NFL.
I'll concede that the talent is greater down there, but the difference is miniscule and not easy to qualify.
Most players seem to be surprised at the quality of play up here when they arrive and that's partially because the league is constantly belittled and misrepresented in the media down there. Part of the American way (at the risk of sounding bitter myself) is to overhype thier own accomplishments and denigrate those from elsewhere.
Last, is anyone else getting tired of the constant misrepresentation in the press of R. Williams as this drug crazed, air-headed flake?
I think it might have been Doug Flutie who said (after returning to success in the NFL) that if you take away one or two top athletes from the elite NFL teams, the talent is pretty much the same.

I'm past tired. I've learned to ignore it, and what it does is lend the article or writer one less degree of respect from me.
