He's Baaaaack!

Would you get any better consideration should your employer decide to replace you?

Football is a business.

Wrong ! This is bigger than an employer replacing an employee this is SPORT , Entertainment driven by sponsorship and Media : Tim Hortons / TSN it’s Entertainment and Millions of Dollars in Busness, some of these players were stars in Canada Buddy that’s History/ Trivia / fan Interest , these players and their talent should never be forgotten , me yes average Joe fired and replaced , different than a Stalla or a AB3 buddy?!

Free agency with players jumping from team to team and even between leagues (NFL), there is less of player loyalty. That’s fine and I understand the why’s of that.

However, the door swings both ways.

The fact that major corporations are sponsoring this sport and putting large dollars behind that only emphasizes my point that this is a business. I’m not suggesting that players should be cast aside. But, if they’re free to find a better deal for themselves, then the team should be equally free to find better talent.

If players commit themselves to a sport and a team for the love of the game, then why do they hire agents?

Many teams have special nights and occasions for former players who have retired or have moved on. Look at what the Raptors did for Vince Carter?

I love the sport, the CFL and mostly the Tiger Cats. Over the many years that I’ve followed this team, I’ve seen a lot of players leave here to go elsewhere and some never give this team or its fan a second thought or word once they’ve departed. That could be because they are looking ahead and not behind.

That’s fair…but so is it the other way around.

Grigsby is back in town to help out again with Unable Gable !

You are WAY out of bounds with that comment about Gable. He had a 300lb D-lineman belly flop on him as he was being tackled, resulting in a horrific injury.

You, “sir” should clean up your act, and show some respect to an injured player.

Really, because he used the word unable? Wow, me thinks You're a tad too sensitive.

Bit of an overreaction…

But understandable. Without clarification following the comment, it’s very easy to take it as a slam.

maybe im reading to much into Cats99’s post but it does read, to me , like he’s happy CJ is injured.

And how does that make any sense what so ever? Our best back is hurt and He's happy?
Again, reading way to much into it....

I don’t know , people are weird. you explain the “Unable Gable” post than

Wouldn't it simply be a reference to Gable's inability to stay healthy? He has been injured each season and been unable to participate. Cheeky maybe, but I didn't read it as nasty or suggesting of ill will.

I read it as simply a clever play on words , certainly wasn't offended by it and I'm sure there was no intent by the poster to make light of an unfortunate injury or to belittle CJ as a player. Now I could see everybody being upset and offended if perhaps he called him something like Gimpy Gable or something to that effect, but I strongly feel like he was only referring to the fact that with Gable "unable" to play once again that Grigsby much like last year has surfaced once again to come to the rescue as Gables replacement. Hopefully this won't be the last time we see CJ this season, hopefully he will recover and be healthy enough to come back for a play-off stretch drive culminating in the 2015 Grey Cup.

Gable is a great player but I agree has a long way to go to get into the company listed above. I think Troy Davis was the best running back this team ever had. Tough, hard runner with great cutting ability. Was not super fast but quick. He had a lot of consistent performances while he was with us and he was a very humble person. Remember the 200 + yards performance against the Argos (the one where he puked on the field from the effort or the heat)?? One of my favourite all time Ticat players along with Ben Zambiasi. While Ronald Williams was pretty good too, I don’t think he is in the same class as Davis.

FWIR, Ronald Williams was a power runner, often carrying half the defence on his shoulder pads while he made positive yardage. Of course, I could be totally wrong too...

Ron Williams was only good because he had the best passing offense in the league and a solid O Line.
Not a great back, consistantly stuffed on 2nd and short.

Troy is 10x the back RW ever was.
