Henoc Muamba Signs a 3 Year Deal

Can’t go wrong paying a proven Canadian starter in his prime. Much better than signing guys like last year who were finished.

Looks like Muamba wants to settle with his family in Montreal.

OL fabian is passed by his sell by date.

With the trade for Ryan Bomben and by drafting OL Trey Rutherford, we can forget about Kirby Fabian.

Richard

That is a nice piece.

Helps us realize that players are firstly people with families looking to settle. Certainly reflects well on Reed et al. And a bit telling on what the last bit of the Popp era was like if we are to take it at face value.

I have never been a fan of Reed but this has been a good offseason for him. And it has to be said he must be working hard.

“much better than signing guys like last year who were finished” GM reed had no choice last year. he needed players and signed some players who were passed their sell by dates. due to former GM popp leaving the larder bare while running to toronto. his draft last year was excellent as well as this year, and his signings in F/agency this year were outstanding. therefore alouette fans and haters just need to chill out!!

@everyman: why never a fan of GM kavis reed?

@ richard: I know your not a CB tevaugh campbell fan but I believe he’s a starter and don’t forget WR malcolm carter who will share time with johnson. plus C C annen!!

The biggest problem is if Henoc get’s injured in game. They would have to put an American in his spot. So look for an import linebacker who can play teams to make the dressed roster. The rest they will be able to slot a Canadian in. Ackie and Wright are interchangeable. Jourdain will backup the interior linesmen.at least till Gagnon returns. Blanc will backup Lavoir, George Johnson, they have Carter and Morrisson. Joseph and Banner can backup the Westerman brothers. Trey Rutherford can even play some DT in a pinch.

Will also be interesting to see if VGW is chosen over Bede. That would give the Als more flexibility.

No, they will not need to replace Muamba with an American. Boulay would start and the Canadians they drafted would back him up.

27 yr-old OL who has played/dressed for 18 games the last four seasons?

With the acquisition of Bomben and the drafting of Trey Rutherford 2nd overall (and later KC Bakker) the Als may have no need for / interest in Fabian, but why is past his “sell by” date?

They tried Boulay at MLB. He can’t get it done. Sure they could put him there but they will get shredded.

Right now the Als have 9 Canadian Linesmen under contract. Its a full house

True enough. But it’s not due to Fabian being past his “sell? date.

Lake Placid isn’t worth thinking about.
